The holiday was established in December 2004 as a national holiday, uniting all the peoples of the multinational Russian Federation. Historically, this is connected with the distant events of the beginning of the 17th century, when in 1612 Moscow was finally liberated from Polish invaders, and before that, at the turn of the 16th-17th centuries, a series of tragic circumstances occurred in Russia, and the era itself went down in history as the Time of Troubles . The immediate cause was the end of the Rurik dynasty. The situation was also complicated by the extremely unfavorable economic situation and foreign invasion. At the call of His Holiness Patriarch Hermogenes, the Russians stood up to defend their Motherland and won an important victory for the future of the country.

National unity. The militia of Minin and Pozharsky also stopped in the city of Yaroslavl for replenishment before the march on Moscow. And in Moscow, the Poles again demanded from the patriarch: “Order the militia, let them disperse!” “May God’s mercy and our blessing be upon them!” answered Hermogenes. “Let the traitors be cursed both in this century and in the future.” And so it happened! The entire Russian land stood up against the invaders and traitors. The battles for Moscow began. Prince Pozharsky turned out to be a talented commander. And Kozma Minin, not sparing his life, fought under the walls of the capital like a simple warrior. Pozharsky besieged Moscow for two months. Soon the Poles surrendered, Pozharsky triumphantly entered the city. On November 4 (October 22, old style), 1612, the enemy army surrendered to the mercy of the victors, the militia led by Minin and Pozharsky took Kitai-Gorod.

Good day! National Unity Day is an important holiday for the country, to which it is necessary to attract the attention of children from an early age. In kindergarten and in elementary school, DIY crafts for National Unity Day will bring children a lot of bright emotions, but most importantly, they will help them understand the general idea of the holiday and raise the patriotic spirit.

Along with crafts with the children, you can prepare a festive concert with songs, dances and competitions on the theme of love for the Motherland and the unity of the people. The event should be bright, memorable and reverent. So that children understand and appreciate the importance of the date and feel like they are part of a huge country with a great future.

Crafts for kindergarten on the theme of Unity

In kindergarten, you can schedule a creativity lesson to coincide with the holiday. Offer the kids a choice of one of the craft options. Prepare the blanks for the little ones, and show the finished crafts as an example to the older children.

Example 1. Simple children's crafts are made from scrap materials. It's convenient and affordable. For this option, a plastic disposable plate is enough. It will become the basis. Cut out a blue circle along the diameter of the plate with the babies. Glue it to the base with glue. Cut out Russia from green paper along the outline previously copied from the map. Also stick it on the circle. On a green blank at the approximate location of the capital, stick or draw the flag of the Russian Federation with the children.

Well, then you can fantasize. Older kids will be interested in drawing or sticking figures of people, cars, and animals on the territory of the state. Kids can be asked to “fill” with colored plasticine mass.

Example 2. An interesting idea for children of any age is colored palms. Invite the kids to trace their palms on colored paper, or prepare ready-made cut-out templates and have them stick them on a sheet of cardboard. You can decorate finished crafts with colored butterflies, the sun and other details of your choice.

Example 3. The symbol of a happy childhood in one’s native country is the sun. Invite the kids to make this for the holiday with their own hands. Prepare templates - circles made of yellow cardboard. Let the rays be made of wooden clothespins. They can be painted in bright colors and mounted on the solar disk.

Interesting drawings and crafts for the National Unity Day at school

Even younger schoolchildren are more diligent and patient than kids in kindergarten, so they will be able to make more complex crafts. A great idea is an applique of people and flags in a tight friendly circle. The kids will have fun cutting out colored flags and depicting people's faces.

Children enjoy making useful crafts at any age. On the National Unity Day, options with patriotic colors are relevant. Schoolchildren can make a cup for pencils decorated with beans in the colors of the flag, cut out cute doves from paper to decorate the classroom, and a bookmark for a textbook.

Great idea

A shared craft that clearly demonstrates how much can be done by working together, supporting and helping each other.

Have the class make a huge dove with a tail and wings from pre-circled and cut out palms, decorate the bird with bright colors and label it. Such a pigeon will become the pride of the children and the class teacher, motivating the class to be friendly.

To "Hurray!" Children will love the idea of making their own kite. Color the craft in the colors of the Russian flag and launch it into the sky on the day of the holiday with the whole class, or even better, the whole school!

Happy National Unity Day!
Happy November!
Let it be in your life
Place for the holidays, friends.
Congratulations! Let it be
Joy in the world and goodness,
And in your hearts and souls -
Bright, sunny and warm!
Happiness to you and your families,
And health and good luck.
May it be on a beautiful autumn day
Kind words sound!

In a huge country called Russia,
Many peoples mixed together,
But that is precisely its power, its strength,
What is important is the unity of desires and ideas!
I wish everyone to be a little kinder, happier,
Respect others and try to understand.
Help without reason, without self-interest, motive,
Blame less on the authorities and superiors.
We are all united, but it is clear that brotherhood
On a national scale, not family, not kinship.
But once you understand everything thoroughly,
We are all human beings, one nature:
We dream of a future - peaceful, decent,
Prosperity, cloudless happiness for children.
And we don’t need troubles and wars -
We are brothers in spirit of all faiths and stripes.

history of the holiday

On October 22 (November 1 according to the Gregorian calendar used by the Poles) in 1612, militia fighters led by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky took China Town by storm, the garrison of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth retreated to the Kremlin. Prince Pozharsky entered Kitai-Gorod with the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and vowed to build a temple in memory of this victory. On October 26 (November 5 according to the Gregorian calendar), the command of the interventionist garrison signed a capitulation, releasing the Moscow boyars and other nobles from the Kremlin at the same time. The next day the garrison surrendered. At the end of February 1613, the Zemsky Sobor elected Mikhail Romanov, the first Russian Tsar from the Romanov dynasty, as the new Tsar.

In 1649, by decree of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich, on the occasion of the birth on the holiday of the “miraculous icon of Kazan, during the all-night singing,” the heir to the throne, Tsarevich Dimitri, Day of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, October 22 (old style), was declared a public holiday, which was celebrated for three centuries until 1917.

According to the Orthodox church calendar, this day marks the “Celebration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God (in memory of the deliverance of Moscow and Russia from the Poles in 1612),” which falls on October 22 according to the Julian calendar. Due to the increase in the difference between the Gregorian and Julian calendars over the past centuries, this day has shifted to November 4th. It is this date - October 22 according to the Julian calendar or November 4 according to the Gregorian calendar - that was chosen as the day of the public holiday.
