How to close the space behind the toilet. How and with what to close the pipes in the toilet - we mask the sewer pipes. #1: Plastic panel box

Noticeable communications in the bathroom do not add to the attractiveness of the room. How to close the pipes in the toilet? We offer you several fairly simple and reliable options for ennobling the room without compromising its functionality.

We have already considered how it is possible. The same methods are suitable for the toilet. Let's remember them.

Plastic panels or drywall

The fastest way to close communications in the toilet is with plastic panels. They will fit regardless of the finish of the walls, floor and ceiling. The main thing is to choose the color and pattern.

The advantages of this material:

  • environmental friendliness;
  • simple installation;
  • fast installation;
  • low cost;
  • the ability to install a door to access meters or spikes where breaks are possible;
  • the possibility of installing a collapsible structure;
  • no additional finishing required.

The second convenient material option for the structure with which pipes will be masked is drywall. The toilet is not a bathroom, but it is still better to use a moisture resistant one. Advantages:

  • environmental friendliness;
  • simple installation;
  • low cost;
  • the possibility of mounting a collapsible structure;
  • the possibility of installing a door for access to communications.

The only drawback of drywall is the need to finish it. But, on the other hand, you can make it the same as the rest of the walls in the toilet.

When you decide on the material for the box, you will need to choose its design. Below we will describe all possible options for the installation of plasterboard and pvc panels.

Regardless of the chosen method, do not forget about access to counters and spikes. To do this, you need to mount the door. It can be hidden, or it can be plain white metal, these are sold in almost any hardware store.

The whole wall is covered

The first option for hiding communication pipes in the toilet is to cover the entire wall with pipes. This is done on a metal profile box. In the space where there are no pipes behind the decorative wall, you can make storage for small items (toilet paper, household chemicals, etc.).

There must be at least 3 cm between the wall to be installed to cover the pipes and the pipes themselves! It does not depend on the type of construction chosen.

Oblique false wall

If the pipes pass only from the side, then you do not have to close the entire back wall of the room, it is enough to close only the corner with communications.

square box

If you are interested in how to close the pipes in the toilet and leave more space, then the answer is simple: make a box only around the pipes. If they go in a corner along the walls, then you get a kind of column in the room. If they walk on the floor, then it will look like a step.

Tiered box

If the pipes do not pass clearly along some wall, but, for example, only up to its middle, then you can make a multi-level box and use it as a shelf for decor, household chemicals, or something else. This method is not suitable for mounting from plastic panels.

roller shutters

Roller shutters are successfully used to hide pipes. They are mounted less often than drywall or pvc panels, because the installation itself takes more time, the construction is more expensive, and the appearance is not very attractive. But this way you get the opportunity to access any pipes behind the panel and storage space for small items. Of course, for the latter you will have to make several shelves.

Household locker

A very convenient and pretty way to close the pipes in the toilet room is to put cabinets made of chipboard, wood or plywood. The lower part of the pipes can be covered with a plastic screen that matches the color. So you kill two birds with one stone: you create additional storage space and decorate communications.

The only downside to this method is the price. It is the highest compared to all other options, even if you mount everything yourself.

Pipe decoration

With a little ingenuity and skill in making various handmade items, you can decorate the pipes that run through the room with mosaics, decorative painting, rhinestones, and other interesting techniques or materials.

The choice of method and materials for decorating or hiding pipes in a toilet is always up to the owners. There are no strict recommendations or contraindications for any of the above options. Even in a small room, it is usually possible to install a structure made of drywall, pvc panels or chipboard boxes.

Water pipes and a sewer riser, although they are necessary communications, do not add aesthetics to the room. The question of how to sew up pipes in a toilet with plastic panels is relevant for apartment owners. If you wish, you can successfully cope with this task on your own, you just need to follow a number of recommendations described below.

Competent choice of materials

The main criterion for choosing finishing materials to mask communications in the house is their environmental safety, corrosion resistance and ease of installation.

Among modern finishing materials for masking pipes, the following are most often used:

  • plastic panels;
  • moisture resistant plywood;
  • MDF panels;
  • moisture resistant drywall.

Not the least important are the decorative properties of the material, which provide a harmonious combination of sheathing with the overall design of the room.

Deciding to hide the pipes in the bathroom with plastic panels, you can not only simplify the installation process, but also facilitate the subsequent maintenance of the sheathing and its quick dismantling if necessary.

The installation plan will help determine the required number of plastic panels, connecting strips and corners. To do this, armed with a tape measure, they measure the niche, taking into account the location of the pipes, choosing the best design option for themselves. When calculating the total number of panels, about 20% is added to the calculated value for cuts.

For sheathing pipes in the toilet with plastic panels, it is necessary to prepare:

  • plastic panels;
  • starting profile and guide profiles for the frame;
  • fasteners (dowel-nails, self-tapping screws, screws);
  • building level;
  • hacksaw for metal;
  • mounting knife;
  • screwdriver and screwdriver;
  • perforator.

At this stage, access to valves and water meters should be provided in order to arrange small doors in these places during installation.

The size of the opening should be such that it is convenient to carry out plumbing work.

Technology for mounting plastic panels

Regardless of the choice of finishing material, before starting work, it is necessary to check the pipes for defects: examine the joints for leaks, check the performance of the transition elements.

Base frame preparation

Having completed the sketch with an exact indication of the attachment points of the frame elements, they proceed to the installation of the structure. There are two ways to close the pipes in the toilet with plastic panels:

  • partial closure - hide only communications;
  • "Deaf" hiding - the arrangement of a false wall, the plane of which is aligned with the surface of the base wall, hiding traces of communications behind it.

Having chosen the best way to close the niche, the first thing to do is mark the attachment points of the guide profiles. Adjusting aluminum profiles can be done using a hacksaw.

Having attached guide profiles to the markup, they are fixed by drilling holes every 30-40 cm and inserting dowel-nails into them.

The UD profile should be fixed as tightly as possible, without gaps and voids.

If desired, the frame from a metal profile can be replaced with wooden planks, using panel brackets as fasteners. But in this case, in order to extend the life of the structure, the wooden elements should first be treated with water-repellent impregnations. And even after processing, the slats of a wooden frame can expand from moisture, cuts in the beams will help prevent the formation of cracks.

Important: when deciding to hide communications in the bathroom, it should be borne in mind that access to the ventilation window must remain open. This can be done by installing decorative ventilation grilles.

Having completed the crate of the frame, it is desirable to treat the walls to be covered with a primer that has water-repellent properties. Masters recommend using compositions with antibacterial substances for this purpose, which prevent the appearance of mold and fungus.

The sound of water flowing through sewer risers often disturbs the owners. Soundproofing will help solve this problem. As a cost savings, experienced builders recommend using cardboard egg storage trays for this, which tend to perfectly absorb noise.

Sheathing panels are applied to the guide profiles and fixed with self-tapping screws "fleas"

Covering with plastic panels

When the skeleton of the structure is assembled, you can start lining the pipes in the toilet with plastic panels. Having installed the corners and limit switches on the profiles, the installation of the panels begins with them. This approach helps to prevent possible distortions and irregularities. The protective film from the PVC sheets can be removed after the panels have been installed.

Installation of plastic panels can be done by simply gluing them to the crate. But for this you can use only special "liquid nails", which do not contain a solvent that can damage the plastic surface. It is applied pointwise at the corners of the frame and on the slats every 20-30 cm.

Tip: to get the required dimensions of the elements, the panels can be carefully cut with the same hacksaw for metal. But when cutting sheets, be sure to wear safety glasses.

Subsequent panels are inserted into one another as tightly as possible, placing the scallop in the direction of movement, and fixed to the profiles. When joining the panels, each scallop must fully fit into the groove.

Plastic panels are a good choice for finishing water and sewer pipes. By choosing this method of sheathing, you can obtain the desired aesthetic effect without violating the performance of the system.

Hidden pipes in the toilet - a necessity or a tribute to the construction fashion?

An unambiguous answer cannot be given. On the one hand, the absence of open pipelines is a more aesthetic appearance of the room, increased sound insulation and, finally, a higher degree of hygiene. On the other hand, difficult access for taking readings from water meters or carrying out repairs.

Modern technologies help to formulate this answer: "Hidden pipes are a necessary tribute to the building fashion."

There is a very common opinion that it does not make sense to “mask” the pipelines in the toilet until the pipes are completely replaced with plastic or metal-plastic. However, this is not quite true. Firstly, hidden pipelines will significantly improve the visual perception of the room.

Secondly, they will greatly facilitate the process of cleaning the toilet, especially capital. And thirdly, the use of components such as plastic, the role of shutters or blinds will allow you to quickly dismantle the shelter structure or simply provide unhindered access to the pipes.

Existing plumbing and sewer products made of plastic theoretically allow them to be buried forever in the thickness of the walls. But this option is suitable for linear sections of water-bearing communications.

Access to water metering units, shut-off valves and revisions is required. And preferably comfortable. The ergonomics of such access is equally dependent on both plumbers and installers hiding pipes.

The designs of systems for concealing pipelines in the toilet can be divided into four subgroups:

  1. Frame. These include structures assembled on a metal frame, or wooden slats and timber. Further cladding is made with GKL, PVC panels or DSP boards.
  2. Mounted. They are made-to-measure roller shutters or horizontal blinds fixed to the ceiling.
  3. Combined. In this case, part of the protection is assembled on a frame, and part is a lifting system in the form of roller shutters or blinds.
  4. Finished construction. This is usually a one-piece array, mounted as an assembly. A typical example is a metal-plastic frame with a window for access to the water meter assembly. Filling - sandwich panel.

Frame types of pipe shelters differ in the form of assembly and types of finishing.

Forms of installation of frame systems for "masking" pipelines

  1. Solid barrier. It is a wall, assembled along the far or side walls of the toilet room. A distinctive feature of such a false panel from a conventional partition is the presence of a frame sheathing only from the visible part. An undoubted advantage of this design will be the possibility of the same type of finishing of the entire toilet - plastic panels, ceramic tiles, washable wallpaper, fiberboard panels, etc. The disadvantages are the impossibility of carrying out plumbing work behind a false wall and a rather significant decrease in the total area of \u200b\u200bthe toilet. Basically, the footage is compressed due to the unsuccessful location of pipelines, mainly sewer risers. As a result, you have to change the location of the toilet bowl - push it to the front door or move it to the side.
  2. Corner partition. The principle of the device of an oblique false wall is the same as that of a solid partition. Only it does not close the wall, but the place where the walls of the room meet. Behind the corner structure it is convenient to place pipelines located in the corner. Ideal when the back of the frame touches the pipes farthest from the walls of the toilet room. However, if the sewer riser and plumbing are mounted at some distance from the corner of the toilet, then an oblique false wall can take up an unreasonably large area. In addition, uneven inner corners can significantly complicate the interior decoration of the toilet room. This can be especially true when lining walls with PVC panels.
  3. Rectangular box. They are used to "mask" both vertical risers and horizontal sections of pipelines. The frame is mounted close to the existing pipes. Unlike false walls that completely cover a wall or corner, boxes cover only segments of the wall space. The horizontal sections sewn in this way can be used as shelves. Some difficulties can be caused by sewing hot water risers with heated towel rails. This is due to the features of the possible replacement of the heating device.
  4. Multilevel boxes. This is a kind of symbiosis of walls, false panels and boxes. The boxes perform the function of "protection" of pipelines. They are mounted close to the pipes, and at the same time, as far as possible from the plane of the walls. The design in rectangular reflection repeats the relief of the indentation of pipelines from walls or false panels. Such stepped boxes save usable area as much as possible. An interesting option is to create multi-level structures with niches. The back side of the recess is the existing walls, the protruding plane is the outer part of the boxes. But such systems are relevant for toilet rooms of rather large dimensions. Frame facing material - plastic or drywall.

Hinged systems for concealing pipelines

  1. Blinds. This "disguise" is more of a decorative character. But it will absolutely not interfere with the repair work. The installation location is often limited to the rear wall of the toilet room. With a lateral arrangement of pipes relative to the entrance, the installation of blinds simply does not make sense. Cross plates made of aluminum are preferable to plastic lamellas. Standard powder-coated colors allow you to visually connect the blinds with the materials of the toilet room wall decoration without transitions that cut your eyes.
  2. Roller shutters. Roleta quite organically fit into the interior of the toilet room. Are made only under the order. There are no standard sizes. Separate roller shutters usually close the rear wall of the toilet. When mounting on the side, you can not do without boxes assembled from drywall. In this case, the issue of the device of the revision hatch is eliminated. If the size of the installed shutters corresponds to the dimensions of the linear projection of the pipelines, then no problems are expected during plumbing work.

Sound insulation of pipelines behind the boxes

This event is relevant only for multi-apartment high-rise buildings. The noise of the "waterfall", coming from behind decorative boxes and false panels in the toilet, rarely brings joyful feelings. Especially such discomfort is created by sewer risers.

Mineral wool will help solve this problem. Moreover, it is necessary to isolate not the plane of the partition, but the pipelines. Noise from pipes wrapped with glass wool becomes an order of magnitude lower.

Installation of duct frames and false walls

  1. Metal carcass. It is made at the installation site from metal profile pipes by welding. The main frame is attached to the walls, floor and ceiling with anchors. The thickness of the metal is not more than 1.5 mm, which will make it possible to fasten the skin with ordinary self-tapping screws with a drill. Cladding material - DSP boards. Such a powerful design is designed to hang and hold heavy pieces of furniture or equipment on it. Typical examples are a cabinet for storing preservation for the winter or an electric water heater with a capacity of 100 liters or more. The complexity of the installation work and the cost of materials make such a frame a rather expensive structure.
  2. Frame made of CD and UD profiles for drywall systems. The very name of the materials for the manufacture of the structure says that it is intended for gypsum boards. But, in addition to drywall sheets for sheathing, PVC panels can be used. For drywall, the usual installation scheme is used - a grid with a mesh size of 600 by 600 mm. But plastic will require horizontal fastening of CD-slats every 500 mm. GKL is fastened with self-tapping screws for metal, plastic - with a press washer. The biggest plus of this design is the speed and accuracy of installation.
  3. Frame made of wooden beams and slats. The most economical version of the frame "camouflage". PVC panels, drywall, fiberboard, and OSB boards can serve as cladding material. But the cheapest is almost always not the best. A structure assembled from wood in rooms with high humidity is very susceptible to the risk of deformation. Therefore, further tiling cannot be carried out. And the rest of the materials on curved racks will lose all attractiveness.

Materials for sheathing systems for covering pipelines

Building components for frame cladding are divided into two categories:

  1. Materials suitable for use immediately after installation work. These include:
    • PVC panels. Lightweight and beautiful material that has proven itself when decorating rooms with high humidity. Seamless versions of plastic panels give the impression of solidity of the assembled planes. Plastic is very easy to work with. An extensive range of colors and a variety of textures of products can satisfy the most picky tastes. The disadvantage is excessive fragility.
    • Chipboard boards. Such a furniture component gives a certain comfort to the toilet room. Especially if the finish of the box is made in the same style as the front door. In addition, laminated chipboards can be mounted as part of a wall cabinet with opening or sliding doors. It is quite appropriate to use mirrors. The downside is the high cost of the project.
    • Wooden lining. Wood is always in fashion. But it is very difficult to harmoniously combine wooden parts with tiles or plastic. But to completely sheathe the toilet room with clapboard may not allow the area of \u200b\u200bthe room.
  2. Sheet materials are the basis of future finishing.
    • CSP boards. Reliable, but very heavy material, even if you use sheets with a thickness of 8 mm. Cut to size with an angle grinder. Absolutely not afraid of water. Particular difficulties may arise when constructing an inspection hatch.
    • Plasterboard sheets. For sheathing the shelter frames, it is recommended to use moisture-resistant wall plasterboard with a thickness of 12.5 mm. Drywall has proven itself in the construction market. Very easy to process. Does not lose its properties under various finishing materials - primers, putties, decorative plasters and ceramic tiles. The main drawback loses its structure under the influence of water. Well, cases of flooding of bathrooms in multi-storey buildings are well known.

Finishing boxes

There are several options for finishing the finishing touches in the process of covering the pipes in the toilet. Here are the most common ones:

  1. Ceramic tile. An old and yet modern way of finishing fragments of toilet rooms. A solid "experience of operation" of tiles is the best argument in favor of ceramics. The advantages are visible to the naked eye - ergonomics, durability, aesthetics, etc. and so on. In the case of boxes, there is only one technical difficulty - the device of an inspection hatch, which both looked organic and would be functionally convenient.
  2. Textured plaster. The embossed surface of such a decorative coating may require more frequent and thorough maintenance of the raised panels. But there is also a big plus - the plasterer is devoid of linear dimensions and quite easily hides minor installation errors.

  1. Use as a screen to "mask" the remnants of cabinet furniture. Any used chipboard (wardrobe wall, countertop) will perform the same role as custom-made ones.
  2. Temporary false walls can be fastened to ordinary mounting foam. The false panels do not bear special loads, therefore, the main thing is to fix them during the foam solidification.
  3. The role of the inspection door can be successfully performed by a removable ventilation grille.

Communications located in the bathroom do not decorate the room. No matter how much the pipes cost, they will not add to the attractiveness of the interior. The article describes effective ways to close the sewerage that runs in the toilet. Materials that are suitable for this are described. There is information about proven methods for making masking structures. It explains how to hide communications, sew up pipes without blocking access for maintenance.

How to close the pipes in the toilet

In a typical house, the wiring is simple - in the corner of the toilet there is a common riser of the sewer system, water supply pipes run in parallel. It is necessary to mask both the common risers and the branches extending from them.

Difficulties arise when it is necessary to hide not only pipes, but also metering devices, which require regular access.

An ordinary box in this case will not save, you have to make partitions or hide them with a screen.

In your home, this is easier to do if you think about masking communications during the creation of the project. Pipes are laid in the walls and technical hatches are installed to access the devices. You can place metering devices in a special room. In multi-storey buildings, deep strobes will not be allowed for sewer pipes, and the thickness of the walls will not allow this.

Only the closure and the outer decor of the back wall saves. You can decorate with any finish option. You can make a beautiful sanitary cabinet, which can be assembled quickly according to the scheme and with which you can close the plumbing.

Solutions how and how to close the pipes

The choice depends on the direction and dimensions of the pipes, their placement, installed devices

Interior features matter. The choice is up to the landlord.

Plastic panels

An inexperienced craftsman can also make such a design. Making a plastic box in a bathroom niche will be inexpensive. But it can only be used and repaired if the walls are already finished with plastic or painted in the same color.

Making a screen from a PVC plastic box:

  1. Checking the quality of communications. It is required to verify the quality of the connections, the condition of the devices.
  2. Surface treatment. Antiseptic compounds will prevent the appearance of traces of fungus and mold.
  3. Framing manufacturing. A frame is made of wooden bars or a metal profile along the walls, pipes are hidden there.
  4. Sheathe and decorate with removable panels. It is important to fix each panel correctly, use a stapler or small nails for fastening. Slots at the corners and at the joints can be hidden with decorative overlays.

It is not worth making a plastic hatch, it is better to buy a ready-made door. It cannot be hidden, so it is advisable to use a model that allows you to work comfortably.

When masking communications and metering devices, it is worth leaving access to them using a viewing window

Gypsum board construction

For the manufacture of a frame from a profile, scissors are needed for cutting metal, wood elements are made using a hacksaw. You will need a puncher to mount parts on the wall.

Wood must be impregnated with protective agents in advance.

After that, several steps are taken:

  1. Mark the surface of the walls near the sewer.
  2. Prepare parts of the frame.
  3. Guides are attached along the riser.
  4. Embedded elements are mounted in the profile.
  5. Install hatch.
  6. Plywood is attached to the end of the box.
  7. Sew up the end with drywall.
  8. Sew up the front.

For any subsequent finishing, drywall is covered with a primer. Most often they put it, with which the room is finished. Instead, you can paint the box or install plastic panels.

Plumbing cabinet

Convenient, mounted on the wall behind the toilet, allows easy access to all equipment. If there is enough space in the toilet, you can install shelves for storing household items. Doors are made from any suitable material, taking into account the style of the interior.

Hinged doors are fixed, just like any doors - they are suspended from the base on the hinges.

You can use sliding products or an accordion door

But keep in mind that an accordion will not require additional space, and sliding doors will not fit in a typical toilet.

Blinds

This design is good because it allows you to save free space. The regular ones are cheap and look good. They do not interfere at all, the plastic construction is easy to install. But they can not be used in an elegant interior. Metal blinds are stronger, do not use fabric ones, because textiles are not suitable for a wet room.

roller shutters

A solid and durable design, but in an ordinary bathroom it does not fit the interior and area. They can only be installed if you have enough space. Take a closer look at automatic models, controlled by a remote control.

False wall installation

The partition will serve to create an original decoration, convenience, separation of space. Surfaces can be decorated with all sorts of patterns, stickers to make decorative lighting. It is only necessary to choose the material suitable for this purpose.

Concealed installation - chasing

Can be hidden without installing a decorative cladding - hide the wiring in slotted strobes. With a perforator, grooves are made in places where pipes go, and water and sewer branches are placed in them.

With a hidden installation, you should try to run the pipeline in a straight line with one-piece assemblies and connections.

This installation method has 2 pluses - in the almost complete absence of elements that spoil the appearance, and in saving space.

There are several rules that do not allow gating:

  1. Pipes are not laid in load-bearing walls.
  2. Only pipes are laid in the gates, without detachable connections (soldered), access to other types must be provided.
  3. Do not make recesses in the walls where electrical lines are laid.
  4. It is necessary to take into account the expansion of the material and prepare strobes of a suitable width.

Examples of successful solutions

To mask pipes in, consider all factors - where you can carry out communications, the availability of equipment, the size of the room.

It may be better to install a drywall box or make a false wall. It all depends on the conditions of your apartment.

Communication pipes in the toilet room do not look very nice. They spoil the look of the bathroom and fall out of the overall design. If you close the pipes in the toilet, it will improve the situation. The hidden sewer system does not spoil the situation and hides the whole unpleasant drain system from view.

Piping to close the pipes in the toilet

Pipe masking occurs as follows. It all depends on the size of the bathroom, and how the drain system goes. If the size of the toilet reaches 15 meters, then all communication can be hidden behind a false panel. But for small rooms, this number will not work.

In apartment buildings, everything is much simpler. The entire bathroom looks like a single drain riser, which is located neatly in the corner on all floors. In parallel with it, all other communications are connected. Therefore, only the drain needs to be closed. The remaining pipes will not interfere with the overall decor.

An additional problem is water meters, collectors and other devices connected to the general water supply system.

To do this, you have to install special partitions so that they hide all communication systems and at the same time provide access to the equipment:

  • country house during the repair should take care of disguise in advance. Partially they are hidden in the walls, which facilitates the rest of the work;
  • the main nodes are designed special hatches through which easy access is provided;
  • all equipment is designed in a separate room. There will be a water-heating boiler, filters, water meters, etc.;
  • multi-storey buildings, this option is not suitable, because. The housing office will not give permission for wall chasing.

Preliminary work

Before you start the masking procedure, you must complete all the preliminary work:

  1. System performance. Be sure to check the general condition of the pipes. Are there any leaks, holes, chips. If this point is ignored, then the entire disguise will have to be taken apart and put back together;
  2. masking method. When all problems are fixed, a masking method is needed (wall chasing, creating a false panel, etc.) .;
  3. Open access to working elements. Valves, bends, manifolds, important nodal connections must be in the public domain. For this, boxes, hatches, etc. are used. Or they are simply brought outside;
  4. Subtleties. Pay attention to details. For example, you should not close the entire wall if the communication is at the bottom. It is enough to make a normal threshold. But for pipes that stretch in a niche, it is better to use a bezel;
  5. Scheme. Before installation, it is recommended to develop a sketch, which will take into account all the elements of the future.

How to close pipes with plastic panels

Plastic is a practical and malleable material. It is easy to cut, melt and clean. Advantages of plastic:

  • short time for panel installation;
  • light weight of the material;
  • high level of sound insulation;
  • a large selection of colors and finishing materials;
  • small price;
  • long service life.

The thickness of the material does not exceed one centimeter. Accurately measure the length and width of the required sheet.

To make the joints of two sheets look even, they are sealed with moldings of various shapes and sizes. They are painted white and do not stand out from other colors. Plastic can be given any shape. It is malleable, so it is connected with a soldering iron or put on glue.

It is not necessary to hide the entire wall. With the help of plastic, you can make a threshold if all communication passes from below. To mount plastic panels, you must have a tool:

  1. construction level;
  2. construction knife;
  3. profile;
  4. screwdriver (but a screwdriver is better);
  5. plastic panels.

Masking the water supply with drywall is carried out in exactly the same way. Only the material must be selected moisture resistant, and the sheets are fixed with press washers and adhesive tape (joints).

A variety of pipes and options for their masking

Regardless of the room, pipes can be cast from cast iron or plastic. Cast iron is distinguished by high strength, long service life, but the price of products is very high, installation is difficult, and if it breaks, it will be difficult to repair the pipe on your own.

Plastic is a popular material due to its ease of installation. But the service life of plastic pipes is much lower than that of cast iron pipes. If you change cast iron pipes to a plastic counterpart, the wall thickness of plastic pipes is much less than that of cast iron.

Depending on the type of pipes, the area of \u200b\u200bthe toilet, the system can be masked as follows:

  1. Open way. The whole system is hidden from view, but it is in the public domain;
  2. closed type. All types of communication are hidden completely. The toilet looks better. But, as already mentioned, for multi-storey buildings, not all methods of the closed version are suitable.

How to close the pipes in the toilet with your own hands

There are many ways to hide the sewer system. You just need to choose the one that suits your bathroom.

Box closure

The easiest way to hide all the bulging bathrooms. It is easy to install and does not require special skills. The material used is drywall (it is recommended to choose a moisture-resistant option) or plastic.

A profile is used as a finish. There are wooden or metal options. But for a toilet where moisture is constantly collected, it is better to use a metal version. The metal version is divided into:

  • a guide contour, which is attached to the four main corners (at least ten centimeters from communications);
  • the wall option reinforces the supporting structure.

If the height of the box is less than one meter. As soon as the frame is mounted, the panel is installed directly on the box using self-tapping screws.

The box is a universal solution for masking pipes. We turn on our imagination and imagine how it will be possible to ennoble it externally. The surface is tiled, or sealed with water-repellent wallpaper. To build a box that hides pipes in a toilet, you need:

  • mark and install the frame (the distance should be at least ten centimeters from communications);
  • we strengthen the frame with a transverse profile if it exceeds two meters;
  • we sheathe the outer side of the structure with a profile.

This method has one disadvantage. The box is not suitable for small spaces.

Oblique false wall

The small size of the toilet allows you to hide sewers in certain places. That is, it is not necessary to create a solid panel for this, you can hide one pipe element.

When installing an oblique false wall, you must use the following rules:

  • at the end of the work, the panels should not touch the sewer units;
  • the outer side of the wall must be either removable or equipped with doors or inspection hatches.

Tiered box

A combined solution to the problem when it is necessary to partially place plumbing units in a rectangular box, and partially hide pipes under oblique or small boxes. In this case, horizontal surfaces can be used as shelves for household items.

Plumbing cabinet

A handy tool that saves a lot of space. The cabinet hides all communications, while leaving space for storing household chemicals. If there are small children or animals in the house, the door is equipped with a padlock or mortise lock.

We take any material as a basis. Suitable drywall, laminated boards or wood. For sheathing we use: wallpaper, tiles, etc.

Doors are chosen to match the cabinet. Before installation, be sure to cut holes for the water supply. The option is somewhat reminiscent of the previous method and is not suitable for small-sized toilet rooms.

Blinds (roller shutters)

Blinds perform not only an aesthetic appearance, but also provide full access to the entire sewer system. They save time during installation, leave virtually no construction debris, and also add grace to the toilet room. But the price of blinds far exceeds the purchase of plastic or drywall.

Before installing any system, carefully check the integrity and performance of all plumbing components. Because, if the pipe leaks, then you have to remove all the disguise and deal with the problem. To install blinds as masking, you must follow these recommendations.

  1. the walls between the roller shutters must be even;
  2. the height of the opening should not mow;
  3. installation is carried out either before wall cladding or after them (it does not matter).

To mask the plumbing system, you can use more than one roleta.

Gating procedure

Suitable only for country houses. In high-rise buildings they will not give permission for such a procedure. All wiring is hidden under the wall, through punched strobes.

Chasing can only be carried out by a plumber. To do this, use either a wall chaser or a puncher. Special furrows are carefully made in the walls, where all plumbing units are hidden. It is recommended to use the described method for direct wiring.

This procedure has a lot of advantages, but there are certain rules that every employee must follow.

  1. It is forbidden to use chasing in load-bearing walls;
  2. To hide pipes behind walls, it is necessary to use only solid or soldered options. Joints, connections and important parts of the pipeline require mandatory access;
  3. It is forbidden to carry out gating in those places where the wiring passes;
  4. When forming the groove size, it is necessary to take into account the peculiarity of the expansion of the material to be laid;
  5. Charmingly use clamps to ensure the soundproofing of the system;
  6. If necessary, the pipes are wrapped with heat-insulating material.
  7. Don't forget about the odor pipes.

Keep a wiring diagram under the walls so that you know where the wiring system goes during repairs.

External masking of communications

If the pipes do not interfere with the main decor, they are not hidden under the overall boxes and are not mounted on the walls. Copper options can fit into the surrounding interior and do not stand out from the general background.

For an industrial or steampunk design, the pipes will, on the contrary, add a sort of element of alternative reality. In this case, access to the pipes is free. If broken, they can be replaced or patched. But the external pipeline is very expensive and there is a risk of scalding when touching a hot pipe.

The masking of pipes depends on the size of the room, the type of sewerage and the preferences of the owner of the apartment. Regardless of the installation option, all preliminary work is carried out first to identify problems with the pipeline, and only then installation work begins. For a country house, it is better to use the principle of gating, and for apartment buildings, all plumbing is hidden under plastic or plasterboard boxes.
