To protect against the influence of the external environment and the appearance of corrosion, it is usually covered with enamel. The peculiarity of installing a cast-iron pallet lies in the difficulties associated with its heavy weight;
• Faience (ceramics), marble (artificial stone). What these two material categories have in common is that they are both ideal for installation in shower enclosures. Both faience and marble have an attractive appearance, heat up quickly, are able to keep heat for a long time and have excellent wear resistance. However, the technology of their production is very expensive, which naturally affects the selling price. It should be noted that these materials are very brittle and upon impact they are simply destroyed;
• Kvaril is a mixture of acrylic and quartz. Such material for reinforced pallets is considered one of the best in its properties. It is only slightly inferior to ceramic. And strength and excellent thermal insulation is achieved thanks to quartz, which is part of the structure of this material;
• Glass;
• Tree;
• Plastic, acrylic. It is the most widely available material on the market. However, during operation, it cannot boast of its optimal characteristics. Although lightness and strength, as well as the availability of various shapes and colors in addition to simple assembly, provided the greatest popularity among all previous options. If there is a need for repair, then acrylic lends itself easily to this, and an additional metal frame is used to strengthen it.

Important! First of all, when assembling the pallet, you need to protect your hands with gloves, because the back of this element is covered with fiberglass, which can easily penetrate the skin.

Steps for direct assembly of a reinforced pallet:

• First you need to turn the pallet upside down. (It is better to remove the protective film later so as not to scratch the surface).
• Attach a metal cruciform frame to the bottom of the pallet, which is fixed with special studs. First you should try on the design so that the holes for the studs coincide with the special fasteners. Then thread the studs through the frame and place them in the holes in the pallet.
• Screw the frame with screws.
• Clamp the studs to the frame. They should be pressed with ordinary nuts on both sides of the frame channels - upper and lower.
• In order to perfectly level the surface, you must use the level. This is a very important part, because tilting the pallet in one direction will contribute to the outflow of water onto the floor.

Important! The cruciform frame can be screwed to the pallet only in embedded places - bulges, where chipboard is “hidden” inside. This will allow you to securely attach the reinforcing element without the risk of piercing the pallet itself with a screw.

Apron assembly

When installing this component, one important detail should be considered. The support legs should be just below the edge of the apron so that the weight of the structure falls on them. Otherwise, the plastic of the apron simply cannot withstand the load and will crack.

• First, along the entire rim of the pallet, small brackets should be attached with self-tapping screws.
• Then, put the upper part of the apron in the above-described fasteners.
• Place the bottom brackets near the support legs, which must be tightened with nuts.
• Screw the apron to the bottom brackets. Close the screws with decorative shiny plugs.

Drain fixture

For the convenience of the process, you can attach the drain hose in the following step:

• It is necessary to turn the pallet on its side;
• Insert the bottom valve from the front side;
• On the reverse side, put an elastic band and secure it with a plastic mount;
• Connect a corrugated drain hose, the length and direction of which can be easily adjusted.

Subject to the instructions, a moderate tightening of the rings (without overtightening!) Should ensure complete tightness. However, for verification, it is still necessary to close the lower end of the corrugated pipe and fill the system with water in a small amount. If there are no leaks, then you can connect it to the general structure.

Installation of the upper part of the cabin

By simple steps, you need to assemble the upper part of the shower cabin:

• First you need to decide on the lower and upper arcuate profiles. The upper one differs from the lower one in a special groove, on which the roof will subsequently be installed.
• To the lower arc, on both sides, straight aluminum profiles should be screwed vertically.
• Then you need to attach the upper arc for the main frame - the frame.
• Now you can install the rear windows. Both glasses are slightly different from each other. In one of them there are two holes located horizontally - for a shelf, and in the second two vertically - for attaching a hand shower. Another important point - the glossy side of the panels is the "face", and the matte surface is the back.
• Screwing the rear window onto the vertical side profiles. One side of each glass is flat, with holes that must necessarily coincide with the holes of the frame profiles.
• Connecting the center panel. It is installed between the two rear windows by screwing screws into special fasteners.

Assembly of shower box components

Do-it-yourself installation of a shower cabin will be much easier if the internal parts are placed in a not yet fully assembled structure.

• First screw on the two-position mixer. Its lower part is clamped with a screw, and the upper part with a nut. At the same time, a decorative shiny overlay is pressed at the top.
• Then you need to install the cold and hot water switch knob. The internal shape of the hole will clearly indicate where to install it. Basically it is a square that is attached to the bottom switch. At the end of the installation, be sure to tighten the handle with a small nut located under the decorative cap.
• Then you should put the adjustment knob, which directs the water either to the hand shower or to the overhead rain shower. The inner hole of such a handle will be round and, of course, will already be located on the top of the two-position mixer. For the normal functioning of this part, tightening the nut is a necessary step.
• Now you need to put the fitting to connect the hand shower. It is threaded into the provided hole and fastened on the back side with a plastic nut.
• In order to attach a shelf, you first need to install a mount for it.
• The shower holder is screwed into the pre-drilled holes to the back glass.

Installation of front doors and roof

Not all consumers know how to install a shower cabin without damage. To do this, you just need an assistant to move bulky parts.

• First you need to install the upper part of the shower cabin on the pallet and carefully fasten it with self-tapping screws.
• Then install flat front windows. They need to be “dressed” in a rubber seal, and then put in the groove of the lower profile, upper and, finally, side. Be sure to tighten the mounting bolts to tightly fix the glass.
• Now you need to assemble the movable glass shower. They have holes for mounting rollers. The edge to which the holes are located very close will be located in the middle of the valves. And for rollers there are differences - in the lower ones, the adjustment will not be automatic, but manual. Rollers are installed from the front of the door, two on each side - top and bottom.
• Then it is necessary to put seals to protect against water leaks and handles.
• When installing the roof, it should be noted that a decorative ventilation trim and a rain shower must be attached to it, which is threaded through the central hole and fixed from the back.
• After installing the overhead shower, you need to connect a flexible water hose to its “leg”.
• A water hose is also needed for the hand shower.
• We attach both free ends of the flexible hoses to the back of the two-position mixer.

Electrical connection

Sewer connection

Ceiling panel installation

Pallet assembly

Most standard mid-range pallets combine the following features:

1. Angle design.
2. Acrylic bowl on a metal profile frame.
3. Separate panels covering the inside of the pallet.
4. Height 450-550 mm.

The main elements of all pallets are the same regardless of other parts (walls, doors), so the assembly of the pallet is a standard procedure.

Operating procedure:

1. Install the acrylic bowl upside down next to the mounting location.

2. Set the bowl screen to the design position (under the bowl rim).

3. Fix the screen tabs on the self-tapping screws - the panel should be held without backlash and gaps.

Note. In places where other elements are attached to the bowl, there are always thickenings (under the self-tapping screw) or embedded parts. This must be indicated in the instructions.

4. Try on a metal frame. Its ribs should match the bulges at the bottom of the bowl.

5. Pass a threaded rod (Ø 14, included) through the mounting holes and screw it into the seats until it stops. Install restrictive locknuts and adjust the gap between the frame and the bottom 15-20 mm.

6. Apply silicone sealant to the contact points of the profile with acrylic and firmly press the frame against the bowl with locknuts. Also install studs in free consoles.

Attention! The tightening force is not critical. Try not to tear out the embedded parts.

7. We install plastic screen stops on the front row of studs. Sometimes they are pressed with screws.

8. We wind the legs.

9. Install the siphon and drain fittings.

Attention! Use silicone and winding. The connection must be very reliable, since the place of a possible leak is outside the visual access zone.

10. We install the pallet in the place of constant use, and make fine adjustments to stability (tighten the legs).

11. We connect and test the sewerage.

Wall preparation and installation

Step 1: Pallet

Taking long threaded pins, which will later be used as legs, screw them into the existing sockets. Typically, IKA cabins include four such parts. Some types of pallets are made of acrylic, and therefore the kit may include a special frame that increases the strength of the structure. In this case, all the holes are already prepared, and the assembler only needs to install the necessary fasteners in certain places.

After all the details of the legs are assembled, and they themselves are attached to the base, you can install the siphon and corrugated pipes. Now the complete part of the shower cabin should be hoisted to the place in the bathroom where it will be for the next few years. The corrugated tubes from the siphon are connected to the appropriate drains, and the legs must be adjusted using the levels laid on top so that the horizontal position is as close to ideal as possible. Install a decorative screen on top of the pallet.

Note:

• The place on which the pallet is to be installed should also be as carefully leveled as possible.
• It would also be useful to waterproof the threaded connections of corrugated pipes with a siphon and drain holes using a sealing thread, fum tape or tow.
• When assembling the frame, it will be very good if sealing foam gaskets are made between it and the pallet.
• Corrugated hose is best bent into a horseshoe shape to block odors from the drain.
• The decorative screen should be installed after the horizontal level has been adjusted and the tightness of the drain device has been carefully checked.

Step 2: Walls

You may be repelled by the idea of ​​​​assembling a shower cabin with your own hands just because the elegant system of functioning of the walls seems complex and requires careful debugging. But there will not be any particular difficulties here either. Any instruction indicates how to install and align the grooves and spikes. The rigidity of the structure is achieved after all the connecting bolts are tightened. At first, they only need to be baited, and finally twisted after all the elements are fitted.

If the walls are made of thick tempered glass, use extreme caution when assembling.

It is best to mark the top and bottom sides immediately after unpacking so as not to create additional risk when moving elements. • Apply the sealant carefully so as not to block the drain.
• Excess silicone is easily removed with soapy water, and then it is enough to wipe the place where it was with a clean cloth.
• When installing the seal, the tab should be directed inward.

Step 3: Doors

The smooth movement of the doors is ensured by the rollers, which are mounted on metal holders with rubber inserts, hung on the top and bottom of the doors. Here also, you should not overdo it with tightening the screws. After assembly, the movement of the doors is checked, and if it is necessary to make efforts, it is necessary to adjust the lower rollers using the existing eccentrics. To make the doors close more tightly, magnetic latches are also installed on their edges.

Step 4: Dome

The assembly is considered complete when the dome is installed, communications with cold, hot water and electricity are connected, shelves and fittings are installed. Before installing the dome, it is necessary to mount the provided devices: speaker, fan, watering can and backlight. To prevent the speakers from rattling, you can lubricate the gap between their edges and the case with a thin layer of sealant. Seals are installed after the doors are equipped with rollers. Do not forget about the screw caps for the rollers, otherwise the screws on which the wheels are fixed may rust. The junction of the cabin and the rear panel must be additionally treated with silicone.

What to do after assembly?

We already know how to properly assemble a shower cabin, now consider the criteria for checking our result. After the final installation of the entire device in its place, check once again the operation of all communications. Also, several times go into the booth, checking the horizontality and ease of movement of the doors. There should be no extraneous crunches, swings and jamming. If the IKA cabin is assembled correctly, no additional fastenings to the floor and walls of the bath are necessary.

When installing a corner cabin, not only the evenness of the floor, but also the walls of the bathroom is required. Before purchasing the product, it is desirable to carry out the necessary work to level the surfaces. If there is no confidence in the reliability and stability of the assembled structure, you can fasten the legs to the floor tightly, and additionally attach the booth to the wall (although this will be redundant).

If you think that the fastening of the dome is not too reliable, you can additionally fix the part with self-tapping screws. The main thing is not to get carried away, since the cabin material is also very fragile, and any crack is a gap in the overall tightness. When connecting communications, special attention should also be paid to electrical insulation. Do not pinch the wires or let water enter the connection points.
