Forced ventilation for plastic. How to properly organize the ventilation of plastic windows, types of ventilation systems. Useful video on windows with ventilation

With the advent of plastic windows, many people appreciated their merits. Practical, comfortable, beautiful, they allow you to reduce the noise level in the apartment and avoid heat loss. Plastic windows have become a mandatory attribute in almost every home. But, after installing plastic windows, in addition to positive changes, people soon find some side effects in the form of insufficient ventilation of the room. This creates an unhealthy microclimate in the room: stale air, high humidity, a clear lack of oxygen, an increase in the concentration of toxic substances and microbes. In more adverse conditions, this can lead to fogging of windows and the appearance of mold. All this is due to the fact that, due to their tightness, plastic windows become an obstacle to the flow of fresh air into the room. That is why it makes sense to install a supply valve in a plastic window to improve ventilation.

What is ventilation of the room and how it is arranged

For a normal existence, air circulation is necessary. In the process of life, living organisms emit carbon dioxide and moisture. Polluted air must be removed and replaced with fresh air, that is, ventilation is necessary. In the practice of housing construction, air circulation is carried out by a supply and exhaust ventilation system. Warm polluted air rises and is removed through the ventilation ducts, either naturally or by force when a fan is installed. Instead of the removed air, clean air from outside must enter. And this influx in classical housing construction is called "natural supply ventilation", which is carried out through windows and air infiltration through cracks in wooden frames. You might think that the word "system" in this case is not entirely appropriate, since what kind of system is it from a ventilation duct hole and slots in wooden windows? But this is still a system, it is simply based on the usual, and therefore imperceptible to us, laws of physics. And the system is precisely because in order for one component to work - the removal of polluted air, another must be present - the supply of clean air, otherwise the polluted air will not be removed. And vice versa, in order for more clean air to come from outside, it is necessary to provide a more efficient exhaust ventilation system (create the necessary draft). Windows with ventilation can successfully perform this function.

How to improve room ventilation

The issue of improving exhaust ventilation can be improved by simple actions. For this, it is necessary: a sufficient section of the ventilation duct, its cleaning in case of contamination, installation of a fan corresponding to the required volumes of air exchange.

To solve the issue of improving supply ventilation, it is necessary to organize the possibility of air constantly flowing into the room. Sealed metal-plastic windows prevent free air filtration from the outside. It is possible to ventilate the room only by opening windows, which is not always convenient and logical, because then their main advantages of metal-plastic windows do not work: noise reduction and energy saving. Often ventilating the room in winter is also not convenient, because. this creates drafts and discomfort due to cold air currents, especially if the desk or bed is located next to the window. Yes, and to cool the room in 5-10 minutes, so that later it would be warmed up again, in our time, striving for energy saving is not reasonable. Slit ventilation in hinged windows is also not always a solution to the problem, because. This is again a depressurization of the window.

To supply air to the room, in addition to traditional ventilation by opening the window sash, various ventilation systems and supply valves are being developed. Installing an inlet valve for ventilation is an effective way to improve the ventilation of a room by installing special windows with ventilation.

Supply ventilation valves to improve the indoor climate

The most common types of valves are wall and window. Wall valves come in different designs: from simple ones, protected by a grill on the outside and a plug inside, to electric ones using fans, filters and air heating. They are intended for a more global solution to the issue of supply ventilation, this is especially true where air conditioners are constantly used. In any case, the wall valve is basically a through hole in the outer wall, and for efficiency, the diameter of the hole must be quite impressive, from 12-16 cm.

wall valve

The thickness of the walls in modern houses does not allow the outside air to have time to warm up to room temperature, and additional measures are needed to warm it up, because. through such an opening the flow of cold air is very noticeable. In fact, this idea has long been used in the construction of houses, but for its better implementation, the outer inlet and outlet to the room should be located at different levels and they must be laid even during the construction of the house. Well, now, before making a through hole in the wall, you need to seriously prepare for this, study various options and be sure that such a decision is justified.

Another variety is window ventilation valves. The best thing is to take care of the ventilation of your home even at the stage of installing windows and immediately order them with a ventilation system. But for various reasons, many do not do this, despite the fact that the need for valves for ventilation in metal-plastic windows is already indicated in building codes. Further in the article we will talk about how to make a fresh air valve on plastic windows with your own hands.

Window vent valve installed on the sash

How to arrange ventilation in plastic windows

To provide forced ventilation in already installed plastic windows, simple and practical inlet valves that are mounted on the frame and sash of the window will help (windows with ventilation are obtained). They are small in size and modern in design, so they will not affect the aesthetics of the room in any way, but will help improve ventilation in the house. Most importantly, they allow you to ventilate the room around the clock without opening windows. They are produced by different manufacturers and, depending on the configuration, they can provide a sufficient degree of noise protection and the necessary air volume. Ventilation valves are available both with manual control and automatic ones, which regulate the air flow according to the readings of the sensors. For example, one of the most popular AEREKO window dampers works on the principle of a hygrometer and regulates the air flow depending on the relative humidity in the room: the higher the humidity level, the wider the ventilator flap opens and more air enters the room. Thus, it is not necessary to constantly open and close the valve, but if necessary, the possibility of manual adjustment is also provided. These valves are easy to install on windows. It is even possible to install such a vent valve yourself if you have experience with a jigsaw. The installation principle itself is not complicated, but certain skills are needed, and therefore, to install an AERECO-type window valve that requires profile drilling, it is better to contact specialists.

For those who prefer to personally control the process of air supply through the valve, the Air-Box Comfort ventilator is suitable. The damper is installed in the window porch without profile milling, thus maintaining its integrity.

And it has another remarkable advantage - it is an easy installation of the supply valve with your own hands. Therefore, installing an Air-Box Comfort window valve is a quick and affordable way to improve room ventilation. This valve is suitable for all types of plastic windows: hinged and hinged.

Step-by-step instructions for installing a supply ventilation valve in a plastic window

Let's take a closer look at the valve installation process. Installation does not take much time and does not require any special skills.

To install the ventilation valve you will need:

  • the valve itself is included;
  • stationery knife;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver;
  • ruler or template.

All parts required for mounting the valve are included. The kit includes the valve itself 35 centimeters long, one piece of sealant 35 cm long, two seals 16 cm long, three plugs for attaching the valve, self-tapping screws.

Step 1. Determine the location of the valve. The ventilation valve is located at the top of the sash. Approximately in the middle of the sash, we mark with a ruler (or by attaching a prepared template 35 cm long) the location of the valve. In narrow sashes, you may have to move to the side so as not to get on the window fittings.

Determine the location of the valve on the sash

Step 2. Removing the typical seal between marks. Carefully with a knife, cuts are made on both sides and the seal is easily removed from the groove.

Removing the seal from the groove

Step 3. Installing the fixing dowels. Three fixing dowels are inserted into the groove in which the standard seal was located (with the wider side of the shirt down). They will serve to attach the valve to the sash. Two dowels on the edges and one in the middle.

Installed dowels for valve fixing

Step 4. Installing the valve. For the convenience of fixing the valve on the leaf, a double-sided adhesive tape is preliminarily applied to the valve. The protective film is removed from the tape. The valve is glued with adhesive tape in the desired position.

Removing the protective film of double-sided tape

Step 5. Attaching the valve to the window sash. We attach the valve to the profile using self-tapping screws, screwing them into the previously installed dowels through the valve mounting holes. Now the valve is securely fixed with adhesive tape and self-tapping screws.

We fix with screws

Step 6 Insert a new seal. Instead of a typical seal between the valve mounts, we insert two seals of 160 mm each, which are included in the kit. The flap valve is installed.

We insert seals 160 mm long

Step 7. Replacing the typical seal on the frame. The valve needs an air supply to function. To do this, it is necessary to replace the standard seal with the seal from the kit. We mark a segment 350 mm long on the frame strictly opposite the installed valve. We cut out the existing seal and insert the seal from the kit in its place.

Insert new seal into groove

This is what the frame looks like now. Replacing a typical seal with a narrower one provides a gap between the frame and the sash through which fresh air enters the room. At the same time, the changes made do not affect the normal operation of the window sash in any way.

Do-it-yourself window valve installation is completed. Now you can adjust the required level of air flow using the slider. The far right position fully opens the shutter blade and corresponds to the highest air flow. Left valve position closes the valve.

Adjustment of an air stream by the engine

The leftmost position of the slider (until it clicks) is intended for servicing the valve and is not used in everyday use; it is impossible to close the window in this position of the slider, because this could damage the valve.

That's all the rules for installing and operating a ventilation window valve.

Probably, many of us have encountered a situation where the plastic window does not close from the ventilation mode, or the ventilation does not occur with the intensity that we need. In general, the issue of providing ventilation in a room where plastic windows are installed is quite interesting and extensive.

Therefore, here I will share the most important information that will be useful not only for craftsmen, but also for ordinary owners of PVC structures.

Ventilation methods

Method 1. Standard ventilation

So, if you have a plastic window installed, then the easiest way to ventilate the room is to open the sash. Modern PVC structures have two opening modes:

  • rotary - the sash fully opens the opening, turning on both hinges;
  • folding - the sash tilts into the room. In this case, the upper corner comes out of the loop and is held by a special piece of fittings.

In fact, the sash can also move up or to the side, but such systems are almost never found in our country. This is due to the fact that the sliding mechanism cannot provide sufficient tightness and pressure of the sash to the frame, and therefore the heat loss through such a window will be very large. In general, the climate is not conducive.

With a rotary opening, air exchange is very intensive, therefore it is used mainly for “volley ventilation”. Usually limited to folding mode:

  1. The sash is set to the closed position.
  2. Turn the handle up and at the same time pull it towards you.
  3. The sash tilts, forming a fairly wide gap through which fresh air enters the room.

It should be noted that not all windows have the ability to install the sash in the folding position - a separate element of fittings, which is placed in the upper part of the harness, is responsible for its implementation.

That is why it is better to think in advance whether you need this function: in principle, it is possible to convert a plastic window to ventilation, but this is associated with additional costs, and you are unlikely to cope with this task on your own.

Hinged ventilation has one significant disadvantage - sometimes the plastic window does not open for ventilation or the sash, as they say, “falls out”, hanging on one lower hinge. This situation is very common, its causes are eliminated quite simply, and I will talk about this in a separate section.

Method 2. Microventilation

Traditional ventilation by setting the sash in the hinged position is very effective, but it also has disadvantages. So, in winter, an intense air flow leads to rapid cooling of the room. In addition, you should not leave, leaving the sash ajar - attackers will open such a window in just a few seconds.

In both cases, there is an alternative - slot ventilation or microventilation:

  1. Air access to the room is provided due to the fact that when the handle is turned 450 upwards, the sash moves away from the frame by literally a few millimeters.
  2. A small metal part is responsible for this, which is built into the fittings and engages with its elements, which ensure the movement of the hinged sash.
  3. When the micro-ventilation mode is set, the window looks tightly closed from the outside. At the same time, the air continues to flow regularly - albeit in small portions, but without leading to hypothermia of the room.

Method 3. Stepped opening

Normal opening is good, micro-ventilation is also good, but sometimes both options are not suitable. That is why many manufacturers of PVC structures supply windows with either two-position opening controls or special devices that allow you to adjust the angle of the flap.

The opening regulator is located in the upper part of the frame on the inside and is a variable length lever:

  1. If you open the regulator fully, the sash will open as wide as possible, providing an intensive air flow.
  2. If the regulator lever is shortened, then the sash becomes the so-called winter ventilation - the gap is 1 - 2 cm, which makes it possible to minimize the hypothermia of the room.

An example of such a device is the Winter-Summer system in Siegenia aubi favorit fittings.

Stepwise opening also works quite simply:

  1. The so-called "comb" is responsible for the functioning of the system - a small part that is built into the fittings.
  2. When opening the window to tilt, we turn the handle to an angle of 450 (as when installing on micro-ventilation).
  3. In this case, the handle goes through four or five positions, each of which has its own sash opening width. By installing it in the chosen position, we will provide the intensity of ventilation we need.

The features of most fitting systems do not allow you to simultaneously install both micro-ventilation and a step-by-step mechanism. However, as a rule, the extreme position of stepped ventilation approximately corresponds to the thinnest slot, therefore these systems are largely interchangeable.

In addition, to implement the step-by-step opening function, you can install the simplest mechanism - a plastic comb. This part is a gear rack, which is placed on the frame and, when opened, engages with a reciprocal protrusion mounted on the sash (attached under the handle). Outwardly, of course, it does not look as neat as the built-in stepped ventilation mechanism, but it performs its function.

The advantage is the fact that the comb can be placed on any window - as long as its sash opens to the tilt / turn position. At the same time, a master is not required for installation: there you just need to tighten three or four self-tapping screws.

Ventilation valves as a special tool for air exchange

The principle of operation of the devices and their advantages

If you do not want to face problems like “the window is jammed”, “it blows from the open opening”, then instead of traditional ventilation, you can install a special ventilation valve:

  1. The window ventilation valve is a device that is usually mounted on top of the frame and closes the through hole.
  2. Inside the valve is a mechanism that regulates the intensity of air flow into the room.
  3. The simplest designs are equipped with mechanical adjustment: if we need, we open the valve, if not, we close it, completely or almost completely blocking air exchange.
  4. More complex valves operate due to a hygroscopic sensor: the higher the humidity in the room, the more intensive the ventilation.

All valves of this type provide only fresh air. For their normal functioning, it is very important that the hood works normally in the room - natural or forced.

Such devices have several obvious advantages:

  1. You can set the ventilation intensity once, and adjust it only when the weather conditions change.
  2. When airing, the window remains closed, so the level of protection against unauthorized entry is not reduced.

  1. Air enters the room gradually, and in small volumes. In addition, the ventilation hole is located in the upper part of the room. Therefore, cold air masses of air mix with warm air under (pure physics!) And the apartment does not cool down as much as with normal ventilation.

The biggest downside is the price of the devices.. So, the VENTAIR THERMO valve will cost us about 1800 rubles, and the simplest model from AERECO (with humidity regulation) - 2 - 2.5 thousand rubles.

How to install a valve on a window

The ventilation valves themselves are expensive, but in addition to buying the device, we will also have to spend money on installing it. However, if you have the skill, you can do it yourself.

I carry out the installation of supply valves according to the following scheme:

  1. The sash is removed from the hinges and installed vertically on a flat surface.
  2. From the top of the sash I remove the elements of the fittings - they will interfere with the work.

  1. I apply the mounting plate - the part that is used to secure the valve - to the sash protrusion from the outside, after which I mark the size and position of the ventilation holes with a marker.
  2. By marking with a drill, I drill 4-5 holes. Then, with a thin saw or electric jigsaw, I connect the holes, forming a long groove or two grooves separated by a thin partition.

  1. I fix the mounting plate on the sash with self-tapping screws. The junction of the plank and sash using moisture resistant silicone.

So that during intensive ventilation the air does not whistle, I also cover the opened chambers in the window profile with silicone.

  1. I repeat the operations on the frame, but instead of the mounting plate, I install a visor from the outside. The design of the visor can be very different, ranging from a simple canopy to a complex system with an acoustic curtain that reduces the volume of passing sound.
  2. I return the dismantled fittings to their place and hang the sash on the hinges.

  1. I snap the valve itself onto the fasteners of the mounting plate so that the vent is directed at an angle upwards.
  2. Using the slider or handle, I adjust the ventilation intensity, choosing the optimal mode.

This instruction is for guidance only, since the installation technology for different valves may differ (for example, there are models that are mounted without a mounting plate, directly on the window). But in any case, following it, you can install a device to provide forced ventilation through a plastic window.

Solving the problem with a wedged sash

Talking about ventilation through windows, one cannot get around the problems associated with this process. So, very often they ask what to do if a plastic window is jammed in the ventilation mode?

The reason for this situation is as follows: if you try to switch the sash to the hinged mode from the rotary mode without closing it tightly enough, then the lower corner may simply not be fixed. As a result, the sash hangs on one hinge and a lever that limits the opening.

The problem is solved as follows:

  1. We lift the jammed sash and press it against the frame, returning it to the closed position.
  2. Separately, we press the lower corner of the sash, which is opposite the lower hinge.
  3. We turn the handle, transferring it to the “closed” position - i.e. lever down.

If the handle is jammed, i.e. it does not turn, you do not need to act "by force" - just break the lever. This situation most often occurs when the sash is skewed, so you should first try to carefully eliminate the skew. To do this, it is usually enough to slightly shift the sash, applying force to the overlay, and after opening, adjust the position of the hinges.

  1. After that, we repeat the attempt to open in the ventilation mode - everything should work out!

To avoid such a development of events, it is worth installing such a detail as an erroneous opening blocker. It prevents any attempt to bring the sash into the pivot position until it is completely closed and all hinges are engaged.

Sometimes the reason that the plastic window does not open well for ventilation is the wear of the fittings. In this case, the best solution would be to remove dirt (a mixture of dust and oil often forms a dense crust on the trunnions and mating elements) followed by lubrication.

After lubrication, it is worth turning the handle several times, believing how freely the window opens.

Well, if this does not help, then only a specialist in fittings will probably help here - therefore, you should contact the master.

Conclusion

If in your house or apartment the window for ventilation never opens, you should not be surprised at feeling unwell. Ventilation is required to provide fresh air.

And modern metal-plastic structures have many mechanisms that can provide this ventilation. The video in this article will help you understand their range. , and all your questions regarding window ventilation, I will answer here in the comments or on the forum.

In an apartment where plastic windows are installed, there is a low level of heat loss. No noise from the street is heard. However, these products also have their drawbacks. They contribute to the stagnation of air in the apartment and the formation of condensate. This can lead to the formation of fungus and cause various respiratory diseases. The supply valve on plastic windows will solve the problem, reviews of which will allow you to choose and install the ventilation element correctly. Advice from experts and ordinary users will help you make the best choice.

Disadvantages of plastic windows

In order to understand the need to install a supply valve, you should read the reviews about the main disadvantages of plastic windows.

The absence of drafts, compared to wooden windows, is, on the one hand, an advantage of the presented products. However, ventilation has to be done by opening the flaps. In winter, this procedure leads to large heat losses.

When the windows are closed, odors and carbon dioxide stagnate in the rooms. Without a supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, according to user reviews, condensation forms and air humidity constantly rises. This is not a healthy state of the atmosphere in the home. The supply valve for plastic windows, reviews of which will be discussed later, is able to prevent the development of fungus and mold, and remove condensate.

In order not to negate all the functions of plastic windows, the presented device should be used.

Main characteristics

The supply valve is a device that performs ventilation functions. It is installed on top of the window sash and is located horizontally. According to the reviews of experts and ordinary users, supply ventilation valves on plastic windows eliminate high humidity and condensation, and also maintain a healthy indoor climate.

This device has a number of advantages. The supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, reviews of which are presented in our review, does not change the light opening of the window. It does not create drafts, there is no heat loss, no sounds from the street are heard. The supply of fresh air is sufficient. According to reviews, supply ventilation valves for plastic windows can be adjusted.

Another positive quality can be considered the ease of installation of this device.

Principle of operation

After reading the reviews of expert installers, we can conclude that the supply air vent for plastic windows must be correctly installed in order to perform its functions in full.

Installation involves removing part of the rubber seal on the sash and window frame. Instead, a special, thinner material will be installed. The supply ventilation valve for plastic windows, reviews of which are mostly positive, is installed along with a new seal.

Through the presented device, street air enters the apartment, and moist internal masses are pushed out through the ventilation ducts back out. The circulation process occurs due to the pressure difference.

Valve assemblies

After reading the reviews of professional installers about the supply air vent for plastic windows, you can get an idea of its device. The product consists of several parts.

The outer side is outside the window. She takes in air from outside. A visor must be installed above the outer side, which will prevent water or snow from getting inside the valve.

Supply ventilation valves for plastic windows, reviews of which were provided by experts, also have a telescopic channel. It passes through the frame, i.e. it cuts into the plastic of the frame body and is fixed with a sleeve.

The interior is located directly inside the room. It is a unit consisting of an exhaust nozzle, a simple filter and an airflow adjustment mechanism.

Basic job requirements

According to experts in the field of ventilation technology, supply ventilation valves for plastic windows operate under certain conditions.

Automatic extraction occurs if the outside temperature does not exceed +5 °C. Otherwise, ventilation stops its work, therefore its implementation should be carried out by force.

The inlet reviews, which we are considering today, function correctly, provided that the ventilation in the apartment is functioning properly.

Also, the gaps under the interior doors should be at least 2 cm. The front door should be hermetically sealed.

Valve types

According to consumer reviews, there are a great many models of supply valves for plastic windows. According to the material from which they are made, there are metal, wood or plastic products.

According to the control method, there is an automatic and manual supply ventilation valve for plastic windows. Consumer reviews make it clear that automatic varieties are more convenient to use. They determine on their own when to open or close the vent. Moreover, the settings can be set based on indicators of humidity and pressure drops inside the room.

Manual control involves changing the opening / closing of the ventilation hole using a special rope. The required level is selected. The profile may freeze due to incorrect adjustment in winter. That is why most consumer reviews tend to choose automatic supply valves for plastic windows.

Air intake

According to the way air enters the room, there are folded, slotted and overhead valves for supply ventilation on plastic windows. Reviews of people who have tried the presented devices in their premises indicate the following.

One of the most economical options are rebate supply valves. Cold air in this case enters through small cutouts in the porch. Windows can not be dismantled. However, such designs are quite low.

Higher throughput, according to consumer reviews, has slotted supply ventilation valves on plastic windows. They are also installed without dismantling windows.

However, air is best passed overhead devices. Their only drawback is the need to adjust the opening to the size of the valve. If a double-glazed window is installed, this type of product will not work.

Handle valve

The valve handle is a very convenient device. It is installed instead of an ordinary window handle. Of the advantages of this device, it should be noted that there are no changes in the appearance of the window.

These are quite interesting supply valves for plastic windows. User reviews assure that the ventilation valve in this case can be located where condensate most often collects on the window.

This is a very effective device for removing moisture. Such a valve does not freeze through, as it has a direct-flow design. Also, the handle valve has a built-in filter that does not let dust into the room.

Valve selection

Among the many options for models on the market for such ventilation equipment, you can get lost.

Manufacturers with a good history that have long existed on the supply valve market are more popular. These are conscientious companies that have confirmed the quality of their products through years of responsible work.

According to consumer reviews, high-quality supply valves for plastic windows are produced by manufacturers such as Siegenia, Rehau and Aereco.

The main rule when choosing the presented products is not to save on quality. It should also be understood that the possibility of severe frosts must also be taken into account when choosing a supply valve for plastic windows. The reviews say that if the temperature outside the window drops below -30 ° C, then the external elements of many structures freeze, and there is a constant supply of cold air.

Good to everyone and everyone individually!

One of my friends, distinguished by talkativeness, increasingly began to complain about her poor health. She, of course, is no longer a girl, but a lady at a respectable age, but she still goes to work. And that's where it gets cold. Without opening the window, he cannot breathe because of the stuffiness, and when he opens it, he falls under a draft. I tried to find out if there is a supply valve in the window. It turned out that she knew nothing about him. If you are hearing about such a device for the first time, then read on.

Ventilation issues in PVC windows, or why do you need a supply valve?

The first thing I want to say is that I’m talking about the supply valve not for the sake of advertising my company’s products, but to expand the circle of people who will know how to make the microclimate of a room with PVC windows as pleasant as possible.

Plastic double-glazed windows provide the room with excellent heat and sound insulation. But a person cannot stay in a sealed space around the clock and feel comfortable if the room is not ventilated or is not equipped with a good ventilation system.

Manufacturers of double-glazed windows have long developed a number of ventilation devices for PVC profiles.

What is the purpose of the voiced additional elements? They provide fresh air for ventilation of the room and remove polluted air from it.. There are many models of valves, as well as manufacturers, and today you can easily find ventilation window accessories from the Belgian company Titon, the French Aereco or the German Siegenia.

If we talk about ventilation products in more detail, then the main ones are devices for small ventilation and compact opening restrictors, which are closer to fittings in their characteristics. Plug-in elements for PVC profiles, such as, for example, ventilation ducts, valves, dampers with an opening mechanism, have the same purpose, but are subject to a separate classification. When choosing from the range available, you need to know in advance which principle of regulation of ventilation devices - automatic or manual - suits you best. Knowledge, albeit superficial, about the principles of operation of at least some ventilation additions will not be superfluous.

To begin with, I’ll talk a little about the ventilation slats and dampers, which have a lot of variations. They are adjusted manually, their mechanism of operation is similar to the functionality of the opening limiters, but their presence should be provided even when taking measurements of window openings. That is, you can’t take them off or put on the fittings - these are separate parts that are built directly into the window structures.

When looking at the section of the ventilation bar, it is clear that this is a multi-chamber profile. How many working through holes you need at the moment, so much you open. In this case, the flow of "oxygen" occurs through systems formed by ventilation holes displaced relative to each other.

What are the disadvantages of such ventilation bars? With open holes, not only fresh air will enter the room, but also street noise. Therefore, I recommend this type of ventilation device only if the windows of the room face a quiet street or if the presence of a noise background will not be considered a serious irritating factor.

Otherwise, it is better to choose a ventilation device in the form, for example, of the German noise-reducing ventilator Aeromat by Siegenia. With its help, air exchange occurs due to the pressure difference. The device is controlled by acting on a lever drive, which can be put on any type of window frame.

The downside of the Aeromat design is the need to sacrifice 8 cm of light opening along the upper horizontal of the window, since this is how much space the ventilator will take between the double-glazed window and the profile. According to the manufacturer, this is a small problem and the device is expected to have high consumer demand among buyers aimed at improving the arrangement of double-glazed windows in homes or offices.

The next object to study is the REHAU-Climamat, a ventilation damper mounted directly on the window element. Its functionality allows you to control the volume of incoming air, adjust the degree of humidity in the atmosphere of the room and bring the climate of the room to the desired level.

At the same time, the product is small in size and does not require violating the integrity of the window profile.

The main advantages of the valve:

  • noiseless control of the volume of incoming air;
  • acts as a filter;
  • air flow is regulated by a special valve with several levels;
  • drafts will not disturb - air distribution occurs in a vertical plane;
  • designed for any load;
  • not tied to a specific profile type.

Valve operation is automatic. The membrane contained in it silently moves from position to position when it opens or closes access to air. With moderate exposure to wind, the membrane does not interfere with the passage of air mass. With increased exposure, the membrane changes position, driven by the air flow. Therefore, with an increase in wind outside, the room is not threatened with excessive heat output. As soon as the effect on the membrane is reduced, the passage of fresh air resumes.

The valve was originally created with a focus on window frames for panel buildings. The first device was introduced to the market in 1986 by Rehau AG, after a ventilation problem was discovered due to the installation of translucent structures with plastic profiles.

The French company Aereco is the next worthy manufacturer of ventilation devices, advocating ventilation on reasonable terms. This manufacturer equips its models of supply devices with fabric polyamide sensors-drives. The level of humidity in the air affects the fabric, which stretches when the humidity rises and contracts when the air becomes less humid. In this way, the dryness of the room atmosphere is regulated, which eliminates the problem of excess water vapor, the formation of condensate on double-glazed windows and mold colonies on slopes.

When choosing an Aereco valve, you will need to invite a specialist to insert such devices into the window profile. When choosing the right model, it is necessary to take into account the technical capabilities of each regarding noise absorption and air flow.

With Aereco, you can not be afraid of colds due to drafts - the flow of cold air is always directed towards the ceiling. When the valve is fully opened, the device provides sound insulation in the range of 33-42 dB. The device is active around the clock, does not require an electrical connection, the valve starts to move when the humidity of the atmosphere changes. It can be installed on frames made of any material, including wood. To maintain an impeccable hygienic condition, it is necessary to clean the valve once a year without removing it from the frame.

The Aereco valve can even be used on residential windows in regions where winters are severe. Despite the absence of heating elements inside the structure, the formation of ice on it, due to the temperature difference between outdoor and indoor air, does not occur. There is nothing mysterious in this phenomenal feature of the device: the incoming cold air acts on the unheated parts of the valve, preventing contact with them of the warm air-moist mass from the room. Therefore, freezing does not occur.

If you are thinking about stabilizing the humidity level in the kitchen or bathroom, then I can recommend exhaust grills from the same manufacturer.

Like the device described above, they independently determine the degree of air saturation with moisture and, when the desired level is exceeded, begin to remove it. For those who like to control such processes, a manual switching mode is provided. If desired, the device can be supplemented with a fire protection system, a fan or a filter. But even when using only the basic option, it will be more comfortable to breathe not only in a room with a source of increased moisture release, but throughout the apartment.

However, I will return directly to the valves for windows. In our capital, Aereco products are found on insulating glass units from various manufacturers. Since the installation of the product can be performed both when creating a separate structure, and on double-glazed windows already standing in window openings, without resorting to dismantling or replacing frames. Therefore, today the service for supplementing a double-glazed window with an Aereco ventilation valve no longer surprises anyone.

A pleasant difference of this valve model is that when fixed on the cover (frame, transom, sash or frame-sash rebate), the light opening of the window will not decrease. And it is this factor that can become decisive in the decision to purchase this particular version of the ventilation supplement.

On the principle of operation of the Air-Box supply valve for plastic windows, see the video:

Ventilation damper AEREKO

With an unpleasant consequence of the installation of plastic double-glazed windows - excessive sealing, leading to an increase in the level of humidity in the premises, the appearance of mold on the slopes of windows and walls of the room, the formation of condensation on the glass with the arrival of the cold season, the consumer faced initially. Seeing one or more manifestations, people immediately began to blame the manufacturers of double-glazed windows for the problem. Like, the plastic is of poor quality or this technology is wrong, since there were no such problems from windows in ordinary frames.

In fact, everything described happens for one reason - due to the lack of an established air exchange process, which is why the moisture that we emit during the period when we are indoors remains in the atmosphere of the room.

Many of us live in buildings where exhaust ducts are provided only in special-purpose rooms (kitchen and bathroom). According to SNIPs and GOSTs, additional air flow came due to the presence of micro-slits in wooden frames. Those. it turns out that all these drafts from under the window sills and frames were not only a consequence of their physical drying, but also a necessary factor in the projects. Thanks to him, residents of apartments with normal heating did not encounter such a phenomenon as mold on the walls and condensation on the windows.

When installing plastic double-glazed windows, air exchange through the microslits of window frames stopped, so all the moisture released by people during breathing, cooking or washing remains inside apartments and houses. Other products of our vital activity accumulate there, even if they are invisible to the eye.

What remains in our homes besides water vapor:

  • carbon dioxide that enters the atmosphere of the room when we breathe;
  • evaporation from the surface of the decorative finish;
  • smells from cooked dishes;

I would also add radon to this list., the excess of which in any dwelling with PVC double-glazed windows without ventilation is increasingly being reported by representatives of the sanitary and epidemiological supervision. This gas belongs to the group of inert, it does not have a smell or color, but it is a source of radioactive radiation. Doctors consider it a slightly less aggressive killer of people than nicotine, leading to death from lung cancer. Radon is credited with 8/10 of all household exposure falling on a person from domestic sources. Where does this gas come from in our homes? From building materials and earth, so it is almost impossible not to get into the field of its rays. Unless you provide your home with high-quality ventilation.

We arrange ventilation of a room with PVC double-glazed windows by means of ventilation

Modern plastic double-glazed windows have very convenient features.

In addition to ensuring complete tightness, they allow you to open the sashes as you like - fully open, slightly opening only the upper part with an inclination towards you, setting slot ventilation.

However, some of the owners of houses or apartments with such windows open the windows in the old fashioned way. Or it does not ventilate the premises at all in the winter, trying to keep such expensive warmth in the house today.

The main reasons for this behavior are:

  • advertising, which says that thanks to plastic windows near the window opening, it doesn’t blow anywhere, apparently worked on the subconscious so much that people simply don’t open the windows in winter (this exacerbates the problem, because ventilation is necessary in houses with PVC structures);
  • gap and conventional ventilation can lead to the formation of a draft, and they try to avoid it;
  • in theory, in order to maintain normal working capacity and feel cheerful in the body, we need fresh air, at least 25 cubic meters per hour; to provide yourself with it in such quantity, the room needs to be aired for 5 minutes 24 times a day - naturally, no one simply bothers about this;
  • street noise in some cities irritates people living near transport arteries so much that residents categorically do not want to open plastic windows even for mandatory ventilation (not everyone agrees to donate 25 dB of sound insulation even for a short period of time).

I don’t argue, it’s a shame, having spent a lot of money on double-glazed windows that completely save you from street noise, endure it when you let fresh air inside the house. It’s even more annoying when you expect to freshen up the atmosphere of the room, but instead you get the remnants of smog.

In addition to this problem, opening a double-glazed window sash in normal or slotted mode has a number of other negative consequences:

  • a sharp change in temperature;
  • getting into the room of allergenic pollen and ordinary street dust;
  • creating dangerous conditions for a child, a pet;
  • the opportunity to suffer from intruders (especially true for residents of the first floors).

This is how the main reasons that having modern glazing in apartments look like, people suffer from excessive humidity in the rooms, but still refuse to ventilate or do it too rarely. It is easy to break this vicious circle by installing a ventilation inlet valve. For example, such as AEREKO.

It was developed in order to provide people with the opportunity to live in apartments with PVC windows in the most comfortable conditions. This is the only compromise solution for those who do not want to personally deal with repeated ventilation of the home, but do not want to sacrifice their health because of this. With the AEREKO ventilation damper, fresh air will enter the premises even when the doors are constantly closed. At the same time, neither drafts nor a sharp drop in air temperature will occur.

Installation of the AERECO automatic ventilation valve on an already installed window block in the video:

All major benefits

I count seven of them in total:

  • the valve provides up to 35 cubic meters of fresh air per hour (in a room with such ventilation, the head will not hurt again, it is always easy to breathe);
  • the working AEREKO valve does not affect the soundproofing qualities of the window;
  • the valve will not be a source of noise and draft (the air flow will be directed towards the ceiling);
  • the ventilation valve is reliable in the fight against radon radiation, because it provides a round-the-clock supply of fresh air;
  • when studying the valve, you don’t need to think that you bought a defective one, when you find a lack of tightness in the product - this is a technical solution to the problem of freezing of the ventilation device;
  • the AEREKO valve is small, it is mounted in the region of a through rectangular slot on the upper horizontal of the frame, so it does not affect the amount of light transmitted by the double-glazed window;
  • you can always put an AEREKO valve on any window without removing the frame and without cutting extra holes in it (very convenient if there is no pre-installed ventilation system in the double-glazed window);
  • AEREKO valve will allow you to forget about condensate, mold, stuffiness and radon forever.

How to choose the right vent valve

I consider the elegant design of the AEREKO supply valve as an additional bonus to the excellent technical characteristics.

devices. Because, even if it was unsightly in appearance, it still should have been installed. Indeed, if it is present, a lot of sanitary and hygienic problems will leave your house. The table will help you to understand the advantages of AEREKO over other types and brands of inlet valves.

We independently carry out the installation of the ventilation valve

I do not advise you to pay attention to the supply valves at a seductively low price and, moreover, to trust the installation of the device to a random person. You can screw up the double-glazed window in such a way that it remains only to dismantle it and throw it away.

As for the cost. The AEREKO valve in a complete set (I'm talking about the EHA and EMM series) costs about 150 euros. Under the complete set, you need to understand the presence of the ventilation device itself, a mosquito net and an acoustic visor. A product of a similar purpose brand VENT Air II is cheaper - 2000 rubles. However, the perfect installation of both devices is only possible in the factory.

In practice, this looks like cutting a pair of through channels on the frame profile using an adapted milling machine. On the profile of the installed window, such a process can no longer be carried out - only similar, but there will be no sense from it.

I admit that the stars will smile at you, and you will meet a person who is ready to install an inlet valve of one of the above models on the window. Do you want me to tell you how events will develop further and how the installation of the valve will end?

To maintain the image of a professional, the craftsman will get an incomprehensible type of metal template, and then try it on the frame. He will make some kind of markup or remember the visible points for him alone to contact the worn device with the frame.

Armed with a drill, he will ruin the profile by drilling more than a dozen through holes in it - at this stage, you can already say goodbye to the tightness of the profile.

After sawing out each hole, the surrounding area will be decorated with a portion of fine metal dust and shavings. Then, with the help of a jigsaw, through channels will appear, which will be brought to the “ideal” state with an ordinary file. The resulting holes will be covered with a supply valve, and this disgrace will cost an unknown amount - its size is limited only by the conscience of the master.

For your own money, you get a disabled window under the guise of a modernized one, a bunch of dirt and the prospect of soon looking for funds for a new double-glazed window. To avoid such a fate, the purchase of a supply valve that does not require insertion into the profile will help. For example, such as the Russian-made Air-Box Comfort valve. Installation of a product that stands, for a second, only 400 rubles, does not require significant skills in mastering male tools and it is enough to know how to handle a screwdriver. A detailed instruction in Russian greatly simplifies the process - you do it and you know that you do not reinvent the wheel at your own peril, but follow the recommendations of real experts.

An algorithm with an approximate indication of the time spent on manipulations:

  • 10.30 - clear the window space - prepare the work area;
  • 10.35 - find and put a sharp clerical knife and a screwdriver next to the window;
  • 10.37 - open the window;
  • 10.37 - try on the valve to the frame in the place where it will be installed;
  • 10.38 - make cuts on the sealing gum itself, focusing on the outer edges of the valve;
  • 10.39 - carefully remove that part of the seal that was marked with cuts;
  • 10.39 - insert the embedded fixing dowels where the places for screwing in the screws are planned for installing the supply valve on the sash;
  • 10.40 - fix the valve on the sash with three screws;
  • 10.42 - embed two seals from the complete set for the ventilation device in the gap between the fixing points;
  • 10.43 - remove the rubber seal on the frame profile in the place where the valve is located, replace the rubber with a seal from the complete set for the ventilation device;
  • 10.44 - rejoice at how beautiful and secure everything is.

All costs are 400 rubles and an incomplete quarter of an hour for installation work.

What to Expect from the Air-Box Comfort Vent Valve:

  • air permeability indicators - 10 Pa, cubic meters / hour 42;
  • soundproof protection - RA, dBA - 32;
  • the indicator of the ability to retain heat m2 * OC / W - 0.58;
  • overall parameters 350x32x13 (in mm);
  • RAL on request;
  • panel color is white.

The Air-Box Comfort supply valve is a guarantee of your comfort

Feedback on the operation of the Air-Box Comfort inlet valve in the video:

Are the windows of your apartment able to breathe at night?

It is not enough for a person to have a roof over his head, he strives to create maximum comfort in his home. The comfort of the atmosphere in the house depends on the warmth of the air, its humidity and the speed of movement. If all parameters are normal, it is easy to breathe inside the house, work and rest easily. When a distortion occurs, for example, due to a decrease in the volume of oxygen, problems begin with the general well-being of the inhabitants of the housing. A person reacts in the same way to an increase in humidity or volume, hardly noticeable to the human sense of smell, but still real fumes from furniture, flooring.

What to do in this case? Establish the process of manual or automatic ventilation - a portion of fresh air from the street will quickly bring the state of the atmosphere at home back to normal. Carbon dioxide released during our breathing will leave it, fresh and not very flavors of food will evaporate, the balance of moisture in the air will even out. All these processes are described in one word - VENTILATION.

You can’t do without it even when there is no one in the apartment or house. Everything in the home environment has the ability to breathe, although the process is different from what we used to understand by this term. As a result, the air of the dwelling is filled with moisture from aquariums, plants, and the breath of pets in the house. But the volumes of water replenishment in this case are small and the micro-slots of the apartment that are in the walls, window and doorways will cope with their withdrawal to the street.

By the time the owners return home, the humidity level is kept at the level of the baseline.

The value of this parameter is influenced by many factors. Among them are the degree of air cooling outside the house, the number and power of heating devices inside it, the presence of controlled and uncontrolled household sources of moisture.

Excess moisture in the air is just as harmful as its deficiency. But with the advent of the heating season, the relative humidity of the apartment atmosphere can drop to 15%, which is very harmful. Then you need to think about installing a device to saturate the air in the room with moisture.

However, the situation with the balance of water in the room atmosphere changes dramatically with the arrival of the hosts. Evaporation from damp clothes, people's breathing, hygiene procedures, washing, lead to an increase in moisture concentration. With the fading of activity, the humidity also falls, but significant changes in saturation occur only during ventilation. In the morning, everything repeats and the air is again filled with moisture due to our usual actions: cooking breakfast, hygiene procedures.

If it seems to you that people do not remove so much moisture with their breath, then I will only say one thing: during sleep, one person exhales about a liter of water. Multiply this amount by the number of households. Now it’s clear why in the morning the apartment sometimes resembles a sauna before airing? And excess moisture in the air is not only a slight discomfort when breathing, but also a headache, a feeling of weakness.

In general, take control over the level of humidity in the house into your own hands. If in the evenings you like to gather with a large family at the TV, then you can ventilate the room both before the start of a home movie session and after. Before going to bed, if you want everyone to be cheerful in the morning, and not sleepy chickens, also do not forget to let a portion of fresh air into the bedroom.

Of course, it will be necessary to spend money on warming up cold air. However, ventilation should not be neglected for reasons of economy either. Those citizens who pay for a communal apartment without taking into account their personal actual energy costs somehow do not think about the connection: you air more often, you spend more energy on heating your home. What can not be said about the persons who switched to individual counters.

Regardless of which category of citizens your family belongs to, questions about the consumption of heat energy must be approached consciously. Even residents of a high-rise building can increase the level of heat in their apartments without having direct access to the valves to regulate the heat supply to the batteries.

The simplest, but not losing effectiveness, method is to exclude points of unauthorized heat leakage into space. This is achieved by insulating windows, doorways, replacing light curtains with thick curtains. If the boiler room does not work as actively as it should, then you can not do without an additional heating device.

I can offer a more modern way to solve the problem of heat leakage from the house - replace the old frame structures with modern PVC double-glazed windows. In addition to the ability to stand as a faithful guardian of room heat, modern windows provide high-quality protection from street noise and dust. But bad luck, in the absence of a built-in ventilation system, such windows become a source of problems with humidity and contribute to the concentration of radon, carbon dioxide, and unpleasant odors in the atmosphere of the apartment.

As a result, you begin to notice that:

  • glass of PVC windows is covered with condensate every now and then (especially in the cold season);
  • mold spots appear here and there on the snow-white slopes;
  • in the apartment every now and then stuffiness is felt.

What is the reason? The old wooden frames were the so-called bridges of cold, through which the heat accumulated in the room flowed out into the street. But through the same cracks, not only excess moisture left the room, but also fresh air seeped in. With the installation of PVC double-glazed windows, all these holes disappeared. Not everyone has the habit of frequently airing the house. As a result, stationary ventilation ducts in the bathroom and in the kitchen cease to cope with the load and the house, and at the same time you and your family, begin to suffer from manifestations of high humidity.

If you have a good habit of ventilating the room at least once a day, problems due to plastic double-glazed windows may not arise. At your disposal, even with the purchase of the basic configuration of the window, the ability to open the sash in the same way as it was done with a window in a window with a wooden frame, or rotate the sash in an inclined plane or use slot ventilation. About the same opening limiters, too, should not be forgotten.

Starting ventilation:

  • make sure that neither you nor any of your relatives get into the draft zone when airing;
  • be prepared to suffer a little from street noise even with slot ventilation - the sound insulation level for this period will drop to 18dB with slot ventilation and up to 9dB with normal ventilation;
  • do not leave an open window unattended if you live on the first floor and do not have a protective frame on the opening (at night, do not even think about going to bed without locking the windows);
  • do not leave an open window unattended if children, a cat, birds are outside the cage at home;
  • with high humidity in the room or a large crowd of people in the apartment, open the sashes more often than usual (if someone is against it, try to explain the reason for your love for manipulating the window).

Of course, when installing new PVC double-glazed windows, you hardly counted on the emergence of a new scope of duties. Most likely, the manager who offered the windows did not tell about them. And to the question about the dangers of the complete tightness of the living quarters, in response, you heard, I think, only about the provided micro-ventilation of windows.

Yes, some amount of outdoor air will penetrate into the room through the channels in the window profile - they are specially made at the factory. However, these receipts can only deal with, for example, fogging of windows. But these miniature canals are not able to provide your family's needs for fresh air. Think for yourself: according to SNIPU, it is necessary to update the atmosphere of a room at a rate of three cubic meters of air per hour for every square meter of residential area. Can such a volume of air masses seep into the tiny holes in your window profile? Therefore, the ventilation process must be constantly supervised either independently or with the help of auxiliary devices.

The presence of fresh air in the house is a guarantee of the health of each of its inhabitants, the basis of well-being in all its manifestations. After all, without experiencing a lack of oxygen, we are more cheerful, with less effort, we solve the existing problems. Yes, we are just glad that another morning will come, and we are not struggling with the desire to stay forever under the canopy of a blanket.

If there have been no serious health problems so far, thank heavens, but you are worried about the sudden appearance of mold on the slopes, then you are not nervous in vain. This is one of the first manifestations, indicating a problem due to the tightness of plastic double-glazed windows.

Until other unpleasant surprises follow, take the matter of organizing proper ventilation of the room under your control.

Even if there are no extended lines for fresh air in the existing double-glazed window, the situation can be corrected even without radical methods. And you don’t have to constantly pay attention to the windows, opening them and locking them every hour. Everything has already been thought out, invented and even produced before you realized that you need to do something about the manifestations of excessive moisture in the house.

All owners of apartments or houses with installed double-glazed windows face problems due to sealed windows.

The cost of the latter does not affect their ability to withstand the accumulation of excess moisture in the room. It matters only the presence of a supply valve or the habit of carrying out full ventilation several times a day.

What are suspended ventilation systems? All models can be divided into those that are built into window profiles even during the assembly of structures at the factory and those that are already hung on finished double-glazed windows standing in the openings. The latter type eliminates the need to spend money on reinstalling new-type double-glazed windows with pre-installed ventilation valves. When choosing the latter, I recommend choosing models in which ventilation is carried out in automatic mode. Otherwise, how will running to the supply valve differ from running to the window sashes for the sake of ventilation in the usual format?

In order for the device to work independently of your control, you need to configure its response to a certain parameter. It is most convenient to focus on the indicator of humidity in the atmosphere of the room. After all, its level most often jumps both because of our natural life activity, and as a result of the actions that we often perform at home: cook, wash, dry clothes after forced walks in the rain.

If you take this very humidity under control, then in addition to a general improvement in well-being, the problem with the appearance of mold on the slopes and walls will be solved along the way, the windows will stop fogging up.

In order not to provoke health problems due to constant fluctuations in humidity, window control devices should be selected from a product line with humidity-controlled automatic systems. Then the stabilization of humidity will take place smoothly and around the clock, without excessive consumption of room heat.

For more than 20 years, the French manufacturer of ventilation systems AEREKO has been supplying the market with automatic supply air humidity control devices. Models EHA and EMM are able to work autonomously and without the help of exhaust grills. But then you will have to pay a little more on electricity bills.

Products are small-sized, can work on structures made of any material, do not reduce the amount of incoming light, as they are placed on the frame itself, equipping the profile from the inside and outside. Even when running at full power, they don't let street noise bother you as they the sound attenuation index ranges from 33-42 dB. Particularly pleasing is the fact that for the installation of the device there is no need to intervene in the profile device or remove the double-glazed window.

In operation, these supply valves are very convenient and do not allow drafts to form, since they direct the incoming air towards the ceiling. In the homeland of plastic windows - in France, and in the rest of Europe, these devices have long been in operation. And I think it's time for us to master the culture of proper use of plastic double-glazed windows. After all, they were created for our comfort, and not for the sake of the opportunity to add problems to our lives.

How to solve the ventilation problem after installing PVC windows, see the video:

Features of the supply valve

Plastic bags have taken root with us. Indeed, with their help, you can ensure silence even in an apartment overlooking a busy highway, reliably protect your home from drafts, cold and precipitation. However, they have one drawback that prevents them from enjoying the functionality of PVC windows - because of them, the premises become airtight and the process of natural air exchange observed in apartments with wooden frames is reduced to nothing.

There are no microcracks in the plastic profiles, through which the apartments received fairly solid portions of fresh air. Therefore, a modernized apartment needs to be ventilated either by opening the doors with your handles or with the help of special air inlets.

Any modern ventilation valve on a double-glazed window becomes a solution to a number of problems.

Among them:

  • stabilization of the humidity level in the room;
  • household headaches due to the gas content of the atmosphere of the room with respiratory products, fumes from the surface of household items.

How is the vent valve

This is an invention for installation on the sash of a plastic window (upper horizontal), so that in this place small volumes of air pass through the barrier of the double-glazed window profile: fresh inside the room, stale from it.

In addition to the device for installation in the upper window bar, it is possible to use structures for insertion into the foamed joint between the frame block and the wall, into the window bar itself or into the space between the sash and the frame of the PVC double-glazed window.

In the case when there is a supply air device, but the problems with mold and excessive air humidity have not disappeared, then I will authoritatively state that you bought and installed a fake valve. Therefore, be careful when choosing a similar product, do not rejoice at the opportunity to save a lot. Most likely, the low price of the valve is an indicator that they are trying to sell you a fake.

We carry out the installation of the structure

There is nothing difficult in installing the valve if each step corresponds to a specific item in the instructions. All you need is the valve itself, a normal and convenient screwdriver, and a sharp clerical knife. Supply canopies that need to be installed using milling, it is better not to install them yourself - a professional will not only do everything beautifully, but also save the “life” of the double-glazed window itself.

The undeniable advantages of the ventilation air supply device:

  • it can be placed on any frame (wooden, aluminum, plastic);
  • it does not encroach on the light transmission of the window, since it does not reduce the amount of incoming light;
  • the operating device does not reduce the soundproofing of the double-glazed window;
  • fresh air will enter the room around the clock (this is necessary even if it is winter outside);
  • when air is injected, drafts are not formed - the air mass is directed to the ceiling (due to this, it will not blow you or any of your loved ones, which means that no one will sacrifice health for the sake of the desire to maintain normal humidity in the room);
  • the supply of fresh air does not lead to significant heat loss.

Information about supply valves in the video:

Valve types

To equip double-glazed windows with ventilation valves, the market suggests using wooden, metal or plastic supply products. All this mass can be divided into two groups: manually operated and operating in automatic mode. The first ones are equipped with a special cord, without which it is not very convenient even for a tall person to get to the device located in the upper part of the double-glazed window. The latter require only the initial adjustment of the orientation parameters, and after that the valves themselves open and close as needed.

Pressure-based operation is carried out with the help of a special curtain equipped with an upper suspension. In strong winds, the curtain creeps up and reduces the amount of air entering the room. Moisture-based operation depends on the readings of a special sensor that contains nylon tapes. When wet, they force the valve to open; when the tapes dry, the reverse process occurs.

I strongly do not advise interfering with the operation of a device designed to work in automatic mode.- there is a high risk of freezing the room and putting the valve out of action. The developers of the product have provided for everything, so you need to relax and resign from the responsibility for fresh air in the room. The device itself will determine when the moment comes for air exchange between the room and the street.

In order not to miss the selection of a valve for an already standing window, choose a product with technical parameters that are as close as possible to the similar characteristics of the window.

Care

The device of the supply ventilation device is simple, as they say, outrageously, therefore, periodic manipulations to clean the valve from dust and dirt are unlikely to cause difficulties.

All you need to do is to remove the main layer of dirt with a vacuum cleaner once a year or two. The surface of the case will have to be wiped with a damp cloth a little more often, focusing on the presence or absence of traces of flies and other types of pollution.

I do not recommend using anything wetter than a sanitary napkin, because washing or abundant wetting of the valve can result in its failure. It is impossible to use aggressive chemicals and even ordinary water to wet the wipes. When carrying out repair work in a room where there is a ventilation valve on the window, it must be covered with something.

Everyone can install a ventilation valve

Installation of the ventilation valve does not require professionalism- it is enough to be able to properly use a screwdriver and a clerical knife, and have 15 minutes of free time.

Before starting the installation, remove everything from the window sill to save the life of all objects lying there and to exclude the possibility of inadvertent damage to any part of the double-glazed window.

First, attach the product to the profile and make cuts on the sealing rubber with a knife, marking the borders of the valve. Deepen the incisions, and then stretch the resulting piece of gum.

Insert the dowels into the holes for the screws, attach the valve to the sash on them, and then screw all three hardware into them. Insert the rubber seals supplied with the product between the fasteners.

Installation

Why plastic windows became popular? They are an insurmountable barrier to street dust and moisture. But due to their technical features that ensure tightness, windows interfere, or rather exclude the possibility of natural air conditioning of the room. You observe the consequences of this already a couple of days after the final installation of the double-glazed window into the frame: the glass of the structure begins to become covered with condensate, and puddles begin to grow on the windowsill. Soon, mold will begin to appear on the slopes if you do not solve this problem in some drastic way.

Regular control over ventilation is not possible for everyone - we are too busy with everyday affairs to open the window hourly to launch another portion of fresh air. And in winter, you don’t really want to perform such procedures when it’s frosty at twenty degrees outside and the wind is north.

By installing a valve on the window, you solve many problems:

  • you do not need to quit current affairs and be distracted by the airing procedure;
  • the intake of a fresh portion of air is carried out when the atmosphere in the room contains an excess percentage of moisture;
  • ventilation takes place in a safe mode for everyone.

What is an inlet valve?

If your window “weeps” with tears of condensate, and the slopes bloom with mold spots, then there is only one solution: urgently adjust the air conditioning of the room.

Then you will quickly get rid of the manifestations of excess moisture. Where does it come from in a room with heating and a reliable roof?

Here are the main sources of moisture:

  • a resting person releases about 40 g of fluid per hour;
  • a working person releases about 90 g of fluid per hour;
  • one medium-sized flower pot is a source of 10 g of water per hour;
  • all containers with water per hour deliver up to 200 g of liquid to the atmosphere of the room;
  • when cooking, drying wet clothes, wet cleaning, the atmosphere of the apartment receives up to 1000 g of water every hour.

Just one small valve on the double-glazed window will easily relieve the atmosphere of the room from excessive moisture reserves. If he can’t cope, then either his installation was carried out in violation of the technology, or you bought a fake.

How is it mounted?

Each home master will cope with the installation of the supply valve in about ten minutes. Of the auxiliary tools, you only need a screwdriver, and a clerical knife. Naturally, the valve is complete (with 350 mm rubber sealing cords).

In order not to mess up when removing the rubber in the sash frame, you first need to take measurements and set the markings where the valve will stand.

Having freed the area from the seal, put the valve in this place first, and then the seal from the kit for the product. Yes, you only need to equip a sash that can be moved.

Having dealt with the area of \u200b\u200bthe seal that needs to be removed, carefully remove it. At this point, the groove is now clearly visible, where you need to insert three plugs from the valve. Then remove the upper strip of double-sided tape from the device and attach it with a sticky area to the place where there are already plugs.

Using small self-tapping screws, secure the valve by screwing them into the plugs. Try gently moving the device. If it sits securely, then you can glue the sealing rubber.

Each ventilation valve to the plastic window is an adjustable device. When located in the extreme right position, it passes air. Physically, this can be determined by bringing the hand to the hole - the skin should feel the movement of air. To close the valve, it must be moved all the way to the left position.

Ventilation valve installation technology in the video:

The installation of hermetic window structures entails a deterioration in the microclimate of the room: humidity rises, there is a lack of oxygen and stuffy air. Problems can be easily solved by placing the supply valve on plastic windows - the device normalizes natural ventilation and stabilizes air exchange.

We will tell you how to choose the right ventilator to ensure the supply of fresh air to rooms with plastic window frames. We have detailed descriptions of popular device models tested in practice. For independent home masters, we provide detailed installation instructions.

The basis of the normal microclimate of the room is the presence of an effective one.

The air must constantly circulate - polluted with excess carbon dioxide is removed through the hoods, and clean air comes from outside.

The old, imperfect structures did the job effectively, providing sufficient airflow even in winter. The disadvantage of wooden frames is poor sound and heat insulation

Trying to restore air circulation by opening a window in ventilation mode cannot be considered a good solution for the following reasons:

  • the advantages of "plastic" are reduced to zero - the efficiency of thermal insulation of the room is reduced;
  • ventilation works only when the window is open, which is especially problematic to organize in the cold season or in windy weather;
  • the air flow is uneven and uncontrolled - drafts appear.

Some manufacturers of window systems took into account the consequences of complete tightness and improved metal-plastic structures.

Violation of air exchange negatively affects the health and livelihoods of people. Condensation appears on the windows, slopes and walls become covered with mold - the concentration of toxic substances increases

Special ventilation fittings:

  • ventilated profiles;
  • opening limiters;
  • partially breathable seals;
  • glazing beads with control valve.

An inlet valve is used to ensure air flow through a previously installed window.
