- whose parents died in the line of duty, being employees of departments that control the circulation of narcotic substances, fire services, customs, investigative committees, penitentiary bodies and internal affairs bodies;
- holders of the Order of Glory, Heroes of the Russian Federation or the USSR;
- who died while serving in the military;
- exposed to radiation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
If a representative of the preferential category has a certificate with excellent results, he gets extra points.
