Timson - a device for antifungal treatment of shoes: how to choose a unique dryer. Electric shoe dryer - own experience of use Negative user reviews

IN winter period I use special dryers to dry shoes. I really like to go out into the cold in dry and warm boots :) Over time, the dryer of the left boot began to work every other time. It became clear that the power wire was torn.
So here are the dryers. Remove the plug from the socket (If you forgot)

I unscrew the screws from the bottom of the dryer with a Phillips screwdriver.

The screws are unscrewed, you need to pry the bottom of the dryer through the hole with a screwdriver and slightly open the lid

Opening the lid

The heating element is located on a special compartment in the bottom cover. The element is placed between two contact plates and wrapped in a current-insulating heat-resistant film.

Now you need to find the place of the break, for this I hold the cable tightly in my hands and pull both wires with my other hand. A wire with broken cores will come out of the cable without much effort.

I try on the wire to the cable and cut the cable approximately at the place of the break (I did it with a knife, there were no wire cutters nearby)

I cleaned the outer insulation of the cable with a knife and, in order not to damage the thin copper wires with a knife, I melt the insulation with a lighter flame and remove it from the wires while it is warm (It is better to do this with gloves so as not to get burned).

Now we twist the stripped conductors. We twisted the first pair, wrapped 3-4 layers of electrical tape, twisted the second pair
The cable had a section of 0.75 mm2, the current that can flow through such a section without heating, approximately 15 amperes (from the cable section selection table), we have the current equal to 0.0 (27) Amperes (we divide the power of 6 watts by the mains voltage of 220 Volt). Since the current is negligible, you can safely twist the wires without fear of heating the place of twisting.

We wind the tape over the twist with a margin of 5-7 cm on each side (so that you can pull the dryer out of the boot by the wire without fear of unwinding the twist)

Since I already cut the cable, I decided to lengthen it a little for one thing (by about 30 cm)

We attach to the wiring cable with contact pads (also twisted). I assemble a "sandwich" - a plate - a thermoelement - a plate, wrap it in a film and place it in a special compartment on the lid of the dryer.

So that the wires do not stretch out, when removing the dryer from the boot, I wrap it well with electrical tape and, leaving 3-4 cm of wire stock inside the dryer, I put a limiter (I attached a plastic clamp, you can just tie the cable into a knot)

It remains only to put the sole in place and tighten the screws.
The dryer is ready for use again.

Time slowly took about 30 minutes

Despite the heat outside, the value of shoe dryers not only does not decrease, but perhaps even increases. Personally, I have to wear shoes even in summer. And in the heat, shoes get wet even faster than in autumn.

The other day, when I decided to dry my shoes, I discovered that one of the dryers was not working. We undertake brain repairs of our dryers.

So, we turn on our dryers in the network and see that one dryer does not want to glow, and does not want to warm up either.

We turn off the network. Open the cover by unscrewing the screws. We get the following picture:

The scheme, as we see, is completely uncomplicated. I must say right away that there should be four LEDs in the original, but somehow they already burned out. I was able to collect only three, and the fourth, simply, was replaced by a jumper.

Our dryer has one very vulnerable spot is a heating element. He sits under the radiator plate.

This is true! The wiring flew off and our whole circuit was broken. We solder it back. You have to solder carefully. It is better to fix it with something until the solder completely hardens. The fact is that the heating element is a ceramic plate on which something similar in appearance to graphite was applied. Although it may be graphite. The contact points were covered with a very thin layer of foil, and it successfully came off along with the wire. Therefore, it is necessary to solder on the edge of the ceramics and the conductive part. Both there and there the connection will be fragile, but we can’t carry sacks of potatoes on it.

We believe. Everything glows! And it heats up!

We carefully turn the plate over (it was the most difficult moment for me - a couple of times the posting did fall off), and we collect everything in a heap. We check again.

In total, having lost 15 minutes of time, and practically not a penny of money (electricity and huge costs of solder and rosin are not taken into account 🙂), we have newly revived dryers, which I bought for almost $ 15.

We can run to dry our shoes.

The problem of wet shoes arises not only with the onset of rains. It is faced by people involved in sports and those who are forced to work in special boots or boots at any time of the year.

As a result, this leads to sweating of the feet and the appearance of a fungus, which is characterized by the presence of bad smell. An ultraviolet dryer can solve the problem.

Characteristic

An ultraviolet dryer is a device that not only makes shoes dry, but also destroys various microorganisms in it. At the same time, the drying process does not harm either natural materials, nor artificial. On the contrary, the use of the device ensures the safety of the thing, extending its service life.

There are several types of devices on the market. On sites such as Taobao and 1688, you can choose any of the described models according to the most different prices, which even with delivery below market.

Most of the models are two identical rounded cases resembling a shoe last. They are doubled electric wire, which goes into a single cord with an electrical plug at the end.

Each case has an electric heating element that dries the shoes and several LEDs that emit ultraviolet light. Irradiation and heat are distributed through special openings located on the body.

Exist one piece models. The device is connected to the network, inside it is a heating element and a fan. Warm air is directed through two tubes with curved ends. They wear shoes to dry. After use, the tubes can be removed so that the device does not take up much space.

Interesting is model consisting of two separate devices. Each of them has the form of a block with a handle. In the center of the block is placed a lamp with ultraviolet radiation, the length of the handle can be easily adjusted to any size, the degree of drying is set on each handle. The device allows you to process one or two boots.

All these devices require AC voltage of 220 V to operate. When the dryer is placed inside the shoe, the heating element gradually dries it from the inside, and ultraviolet waves destroy various microorganisms. After a few hours, the shoes become dry, disinfected, without an unpleasant odor.

Doctors' opinion

IN modern medicine appeared new method in the treatment of fungus. Physiotherapists and dermatologists agree with him. It consists in exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Due to the fact that fungi are resistant living organisms, ultraviolet radiation from the sun is not enough to completely destroy them. The complete death of fungal particles is caused by short-spectrum ultraviolet light. Special lamps and LEDs are capable of producing waves of this length.

Such waves penetrate tissues to a depth of 0.6 mm, so it takes a long time to destroy the fungus in shoes.

When purchasing an antifungal shoe dryer, you need to make sure that it works on the basis of devices with ultraviolet radiation.

Video from the program Live is great, in which doctors express their opinion about the device in question:

Instruction

It is necessary that the shoes were not metal objects, snow or water. Each body of the device is placed inside the boot, only after that the plug is plugged into the outlet.

The ultraviolet dryer must not be placed in a liquid medium, opened, left unattended. Do not leave the device connected to the mains permanently. It is better to store it in its original packaging, away from children.

Over time, there may be a change in the brightness of the light. This does not affect efficiency.

Flaws

The use of an ultraviolet dryer has its own characteristics:

  • It is known that this light is dangerous for plants, so it is better to use the device in a room without living organisms.
  • Radiation adversely affects vision. That is why before turning on the device, it should be placed in the shoes and should not be disassembled out of curiosity.
  • The device cannot work without power supply, which limits the possibilities for its operation.

Where can I buy?

The invention is sold in any hardware store, but it will be cheaper to buy on Taobao websites or 1688.com, through an official Russian intermediary, where the average cost for simple model is from 300 to 400 rubles. More details on how to do this have already been described in the articles.

Each of us had to repeatedly deal with such a problem as getting wet shoes. In summer we get caught in the rain, in autumn we are surrounded by slush and dampness at every step, in winter our shoes suffer from snow. During a thaw, moisture seeps into boots and boots, causing an unpleasant sensation and threatening colds. And no matter how hard we try to be careful, we have to part with our favorite products quite early.

Of course, many save wet shoes by leaving them to dry by the battery, but this method pretty soon leads to deformation and damage to the products. And it is not so easy to dry the shoes completely, especially in hard-to-reach places.

It takes a lot of time to dry naturally, and, as a rule, it is often not enough. Help get rid of these problems electric dryers for shoes.

Device types

An electric dryer is the simplest device. A miniature and compact product is most often made in the form of heated socks, which you just need to insert into wet shoes, and then plug the cord into the outlet. Due to thermal radiation, the material heats up without touching the surface of the shoes. Dryer does not work negative impact on the appearance of the shoe, does not deform it, since it dries the surface only from the inside. The device consumes electricity 5-8 W, which is quite a bit.

The UV shoe dryer is a model equipped with an UV lamp. She not only dries boots and boots, but also disinfects them. Such a light bulb does not pose any danger to adults, children and animals, since it has a fairly narrow spectrum of action.

Antifungal. This device works on the principle of a conventional electric dryer, but due to the enhanced radiation spectrum, it also has an antifungal effect. A few procedures are enough to leave no trace of bacteria and fungi. For the purpose of prevention, this device can be used for slippers and slippers that have been in a bath, pool or sauna. An important advantage of such a dryer is its ability to dry wet shoes in a matter of hours. Due to double insulation, the product is fireproof.

Let's take a closer look at what a UV shoe dryer is, as it has an antifungal and antibacterial effect. It is also important that this type of device is also capable of removing unpleasant odors. Today, manufacturers produce appliances in the form of dryer inserts and lamps.

UV lamps for drying shoes

These devices are powered by batteries, so they can be used at work or leisure. Dryer lamps operate automatically, turn off by themselves. Ultraviolet in the shortest time destroys fungi, microbes and even Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Special silica gel desiccants absorb moisture and dry to keep any shoe safe.

Among the features of these devices, one can single out their fire safety, as they are protected by shatter-proof plastic, which will not cause harm, even if you accidentally step on the device.

How do electric UV dryers work?

The ultraviolet shoe dryer is extremely simple and consists of a heating element and an ultraviolet lamp. To completely dry the shoes, the device needs an average of 5-8 hours, since it heats up to a low temperature without injuring the skin or other delicate materials.

Such devices consume 6-12 W and are safe even with prolonged use, it cannot lead to a fire.

The design of an ultraviolet shoe dryer directly depends on its cost. average price is 500 rubles or more, depending on the manufacturer and what lamps are installed in the device. Most often, ultraviolet dryers are made in the form of an insert, although more interesting designs are also found.

UV liners for drying shoes

Such products are very convenient for use in everyday life due to the shape that follows the shape of the foot. With their help, shoes can be dried in a few hours.

UV shoe dryer is very economical and balanced temperature regime and a case made of non-flammable plastic, completely exclude overheating or ignition of shoes. Thanks to ultraviolet irradiation and a temperature of +70 degrees, antibacterial shoe cleaning is performed.

How to use UV shoe inserts?

Each plastic device is placed inside the shoe, then the device is connected to the mains. After a few hours, the appliance turns off. The shoes are perfectly dried and processed. If, for any reason, the dryer is not turned off, the low temperature regime will not cause a fire.

Benefits of using ultrasonic shoe dryer

Electric shoe dryers with ultraviolet light are not cheap, but the cost of such an acquisition is fully offset by the fact that when using the device, shoes, shoes and boots retain a presentable look for much longer. It is especially recommended to purchase a household dryer for families with children, as well as for people who stay during the day on long journeys or go in for sports. The appliance will help out in the off-season and wet, rainy weather.

This useful device is successfully used by pet owners. They place the device in a house, basket or container where the pet sleeps. The dryer switched on for several hours destroys the unpleasant odor and disinfects the “bed”.

Repair of shoe dryers with ultraviolet light can be easily done by hand.

Negative user reviews

The dryer for shoes with ultraviolet reviews of the owners is not only positive.

  • Users note that in some models conventional LEDs are installed instead of UV lamps.
  • The device during operation can emit a rather unpleasant smell, and this is due to the fact that sweat-soaked shoes heat up. But this does not mean that the product is of poor quality.
  • Many inexpensive models of shoe dryers, according to the owners, do not fit in women's and children's shoes.
  • A bunch of original models do not completely dry wet shoes overnight.

Rainy weather gives someone a romantic mood, someone evokes sadness. Be that as it may, its most banal consequence is wet shoes. If it is not dried properly and in a timely manner, the consequences will be sad: from a quickly spoiled pair of boots or boots to a serious cold. Someone once thought of drying shoes, stuffing them with newspapers, someone, out of habit, puts them under a heating radiator, and someone dries them with a hairdryer. Why all this, if specialized and inexpensive devices have long appeared on sale. We deal with the existing assortment and choose the best electric shoe dryers.

Dryers for shoes are conditionally divided into the following types:

  • conditionally stationary. These are models with one or more pairs of vertical tubes through which air comes out to blow the shoes. In some models, the temperature can be adjusted, as expensive Leather Products It is better to dry with not very warm air. Drying on such devices is faster than on portable ones, but they are also more expensive. In addition, such a device allows you to dry hats and gloves;
  • portable. Represent two heating elements dressed in the case and connected among themselves by a cord. These are the cheapest and most popular devices, they are easy to use and do an excellent job with their direct tasks. They can have any shape and size, dry shoes for 4-10 hours, heat up to 60-90 0 C. When choosing a portable dryer, pay attention on the build quality: plastic parts should not be glued, but twisted with nuts - this is a guarantee that under the influence warm air integrity will not be compromised. Give preference to models with big amount holes, and the larger they are, the better. Optimal size such dryers - 10-15 cm: such models can effectively dry adult shoes and fit into a nursery. The dryer should heat up in 2-3 minutes, and its power is low - 10-12 W, so you can safely warm up your shoes without fear of huge electricity bills;
  • mats and shelves for drying shoes have a power of 35-120 W and provide uniform heating due to convection. Rugs are made of wear-resistant rubber, shelves can be equipped with several strips and look no different from the usual shoe rack. Some of these models have a built-in timer.

Separately, it is worth highlighting models with ultraviolet sterilizer, which supposedly helps prevent fungus. I would like to believe in this effect, but laboratory tests have not confirmed it. Also presented models with ionization, due to which the unpleasant smell should disappear.
