The scheme of summer pruning of trees can be divided into three stages, because sometimes it is necessary to shorten not only young shoots, but also fully formed branches:

1. Weak pruning. It is applied mainly to young trees, each new branch is shortened by one fourth. This not only increases the yield of the plant, but also allows without special efforts form correct form crowns.
2. Medium cut. Actual for trees at the age of five or seven years. The branches are cut to one-third. This is done mainly to improve yields.

With the help of a garden hacksaw, an incision is made approximately to the middle of the diameter of the branch.
