They make a false ceiling from a stretch fabric, drywall or other sheet material, make holes in it, and pull the threads. A self-tapping screw is fixed next to the hole, to which a thread or a bundle of threads is tied. Then, when the stretch ceiling is installed, the ends of the threads will simply rest against the canvas, but will not be able to move.
