There are several reliable effective ways the fight against soot, inherited from our grandmothers:

  1. Cleaning the fat layer high temperatures. In order to put this method into action, you need to place the pan on the fire and burn its sides with gas. Craftsmen manage to perfectly clean the product using blowtorches and grinding machines. These are quite effective options, but it is recommended to practice them in an open space, and not in your kitchen.
  2. The following solution is considered good: 100 grams of laundry soap shavings, 0.5 kilograms of soda and 100 grams of silicate glue. All ingredients are mixed with 10 liters of water, poured into a wide bowl and put on fire. Put a frying pan here and boil for about 30 minutes. After that, turn off the gas, cool the solution, remove the product and rinse it with tap water. Such actions guarantee that the fumes will remain in the water, and the pan will become like new.
  3. An easier option for cleaning cast iron is a sand sauna. Take a frying pan, pour a layer of sand into it and place it on the fire. Leave the product on fire for 3 hours. This method saves you from tedious cleaning, but has a distinctive disadvantage - a specific smell.
  4. Try to take 1 cup of vinegar and 3 cups of water, mix them and pour into the product for 5 hours. Constantly monitor the water level in the pan. Such cleaning is not worth much physical effort, but it will not benefit your scent. To avoid poisoning with vinegar fumes, be sure to turn on the hood or open windows. If the cast iron began to smell like vinegar after cleaning, then treat it with a solution of soda by boiling.
  5. Buy a pack activated carbon crush it and soak it in water. Sprinkle the pan with this product, and wash it after an hour. detergent for dishes.

As mentioned above, aluminum products should not be rubbed with rough sponges and cleaning agents with an abrasive. The ideal option soda is considered to cope well with the fat layer inside and outside the product.

It is known that with prolonged exposure to fire, even a thick soot gradually shrinks, which leads to the gradual evaporation of fat and the disappearance of the remaining particles of dirt. You can heat the outside of the pan with the usual gas burner or blowtorch. You need to burn the outer sides of the dishes until they begin to smoke - as a rule, this takes about 15 minutes. To facilitate the task, you can use a special metal stand. Upon completion of the firing, the pan must be removed from the heat and allowed to cool slightly - after such a procedure, the soot will move away from the surface and can be easily removed with a brush. Keep in mind that when using this method at home, an unpleasant smell and even a fumes cannot be avoided, so be sure to open all windows and organize a good draft.

Advice. Open flame treatment is highly discouraged for aluminum and cast iron pans - they can quickly and seriously deform.

Second - sand sauna. This method is less extreme, so it is suitable for any pans. Everything is simple here: first, pour sand into the dishes, put it on low heat for 3 hours, and then, when the pan cools down, tap it on a hard object - the soot will quickly crumble.

Chemical cleaning methods

The most common option is to remove soot using various kinds of chemicals. We immediately distinguish here two ways to clean pans: through the use of special chemistry and through the preparation of home-made solutions from chemical and natural ingredients.

If you don't want to bother with solutions, use store funds for cleaning based on hydrochloric acid:

  • treat the dishes with the purchased product and leave it for 1-2 hours;
  • Use a brush to remove dirt from the outer surfaces.

The procedure can be repeated several times if the soot is very thick. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when cleaning.

More secure, but no less effective option- a solution based on soda, citric acid, laundry soap and silicate glue:

  • rub soap;
  • prepare a metal bucket with water, add 500 g of soda to it, 1 tbsp. l. acids, a tube of silicate glue and grated soap;
  • put the bucket on the fire and place the frying pan there;
  • over low heat, heat the contents to a boil;
  • leave the solution with the pan to boil for 15-20 minutes, then turn off the stove and let the dishes rest in the cooling water for another 1.5-2 hours.
  • remove the pan from the solution and remove the softened carbon deposits with a brush.

Now you have several mechanical, thermal and chemical methods removing soot from the outside of the pan at home. Use them and do not forget: high-quality and timely cleaning is the key not only to the beauty of the dishes, but also to the benefits of the food cooked in it.
