Choosing the best fly repellant What tools will help you quickly deal with flies

Everyone knows how quickly flies multiply and cause a lot of trouble in the room where people live. Moreover, these annoying winged ones can appear in the house at any time of the year. Even if one individual is destroyed, after a short time, as if nothing had happened, they again fly everywhere and carry pathogenic bacteria. To finally clear the room of such insects, you just need to find out where they come from, what is their source, what are they dangerous to human health, and what to choose an effective remedy.

Where do flies come from in the house and what are they

It is obvious that the first measure in the fight against winged carriers of harmful microorganisms and bacteria should be fought, first of all, by eliminating the source of their appearance. This may be a factor in unhygienic indoor conditions, which serve as a beneficial environment for brood. And you can simply restrict access to flying into the room for such individuals. The most likely sources from which flies fly into the house and then breed there are the following sources:

Wide spaces for penetration from the outside:

  • open windows;
  • balcony doors;
  • window;
  • Entrance door.

Narrower passages through which flies can enter a house or apartment:

  • ventilation ducts (this is especially true for cleaned risers in apartment buildings, as well as ventilation in a private house);
  • gaps in old window frames (including between glass and frames);
  • in poorly sealed holes and crevices, between the floor, ceiling, wall and pipes of water or sewer (and other) communications.

Food sources that may particularly attract many such winged birds are:

  • poorly cleaned garbage chutes;
  • leaky closed drain pits for suburban areas;
  • the presence of missing food in the room;
  • fragrant foods and other sources of strong organic odor.

Insects can often also enter the house especially actively at certain times, season. So, if the cold is approaching, then they are looking for a warm place where they can hide or hibernate, and therefore penetrate even through the old frames in the windows. In the event that the source of buzzing winged birds entering the house is eliminated, it is enough hold several events to improve their living conditions:

  • Seal all cracks that lead to the street.
  • If you plan to change windows to airtight plastic ones, then most of the problem will go away by itself.
  • Put a mosquito net on the opening of the window, window, balcony or front door.
  • In the lightest version, you can simply hang the mesh fabric before you open the window or doors.
  • Close up all the cracks with mounting foam where the joints between the walls of the pipeline and the floors of the house are poorly processed after repair.
  • Do more general cleaning with disinfectants.

You can, of course, be surprised that these insects can enter a home through ventilation, but this, although less common, does happen. You can’t block the ventilation ducts in any way, because their function is to work at full strength to ensure the flow of fresh air into the room. If you have automatic devices installed for these purposes, then the flies will not penetrate there, because the holes for them are too small there. If the ventilation is simply covered with a standard classic grate, then the only thing that can be done is to simply cover the ventilation grate with some material with a fine mesh.

Fly creatures in the premises where people live, most often the following types are found:

  • small room;
  • synantnope;
  • yellowish drosophila;
  • meat gray;
  • cheese and greasy;
  • sour midges and others.

What are the health risks

A few words should also be said about what kind of flies can pose a danger for a person. Their importunity is not such a problem as the fact that they are carriers of pathogenic bacteria. On their paws, insects can carry any infection, because they often like to feed and crawl on various decay products. Regardless of the variety, these creatures can serve as sources of infection for the following diseases:

  • distribution of eggs of worms;
  • typhoid (abdominal) and paratyphoid;
  • tuberculosis diseases;
  • diphtheria;
  • poliomyelitis and others.

Getting rid of flies: effective remedies

In addition to the priority measures taken in the house to eliminate the source of the appearance of winged carriers of diseases, it also makes sense to use specialized means for the destruction of already existing adults, as well as their offspring. For this, they can be used household level drugs the following groups:

  • sprays and aerosol devices;
  • solutions, concentrates and powders;
  • fumigators with removable plates or special liquid;
  • duct tape and other types of traps;
  • folk remedies and methods of struggle - the cultivation of repellent plants (for example, castor oil), the use of kerosene, the smell of which insects do not like, and other methods.

For a broader idea, here are some examples of the most best ways protecting your home from fly subspecies of winged germ carriers.

Agita from flies

Features of the tool:

  • Active ingredient: thiamethoxam 10%
  • Bank 400 grams
  • Shelf life - 3 years. Instruction:
  1. 400 gr. substances are dissolved in 320 ml of warm water.
  2. Everything is thoroughly mixed.
  3. Take a wide brush and moisten in the finished solution.
  4. Make with a brush strips 10 cm wide and 30 cm long, along the surface where flies are most often found.
  5. The resulting suspension is enough to process 160 square meters, which is approximately 30 strips.
  6. In an intact state, all smears should remain indoors for up to 6-8 weeks - the period when the drug is active on all harmful insects.
  • Price - 2300 rub.

After treatment of the premises, the residual activity of the substance may still remain about one to two weeks. Do not spray in children's room when the child is going to sleep there. It is better to take the children to another residential place for a while. This should, in principle, be done when treated with any insecticides.

GET

The drug with the spray "GET" should not be confused with the "Gett" that has already stepped aside. This different means. The first one is safer for people, and the second is more like a poisonous agent not only for insects, but also for people. The characteristics of "GET" include the following parameters:

  • Produced in the form liquid that is sprayed under pressure.
  • The active substance in the composition is chlorpyrifos, which is located in special polymer capsules.
  • Toxicity is in IV place (class), which defines it as harmless to humans.
  • Best before date - 2 years.
  • Average price - 790 rub.

The manufacturer guarantees that not only flies, but also a number of other insects after treatment with this drug will not appear in the house for another 16 months. "GET" is also often found in vials containing a concentrate for diluting a special etching solution. Usually such a bottle costs an average from 593 to 790 rubles. If you saw "GET" for 100 rubles, then you should think about its fake.

Flight Byte granules are especially in high demand when required remove large and dangerous adults or yellow fruit flies from the house. The characteristics should be the following features facilities:

  • Release form - granules in a plastic bucket.
  • Active substances that have a detrimental effect on insects are methomyl (1%), cystricosene (0.25;), bitrex (0.2%).
  • Products are assigned to the middle class of safety for people and animals (III-IV class).
  • The one-year period of use from the date of issue lasts 3 years.
  • Approximate cost per 2 kg. - 3200 rub.

It is enough to spread the granulated product in places where flies accumulate on special pieces of paper-substrate. She's being used as bait. Insects, eating it, are first paralyzed, and then die. Due to the fact that the capacity is too large, then usually such a drug is effectively used for processing large areas.

Alfacin

Very effective product with a good prolonged action. The classic version of this common tool has the following distinctive features:

  • Release form - concentrate.
  • Producer - Russia, DezsnabTrade LLC.
  • Active ingredient - alphacypermethrin 10%
  • Packaging 1 liter and 5 liters
  • One pack is for 30 nights.
  • The cost of one package fluctuates - 1450 rubles, for lytrinsecticides and fast-acting techniques. Particularly effective is the treatment of a room or land plot a fog that penetrates all the shelters of fly nests, destroying not only them, but also ticks or bedbugs.

How to deal with flies

Hi all. It seems that this year is going under the sign of the fly. These insects were already everywhere: in the cellar, and in the barn, and in the house.

At first I thought it was almost impossible to deal with them. Every day there were more and more of them.

But I got lucky. After several unsuccessful attempts, I found control over these pests. Want to learn how to deal with flies? How to get rid of the sources of their appearance? Then in the material below you will find detailed answers to the questions posed.

Extermination of flies in apartments, houses, cafes and open areas

It seems that there is nothing terrible and dangerous in a flying fly. Well, she appears in the summer and goes into hibernation in the winter - nothing special! But in fact, everything is much more complicated, even with flies you need to be extremely careful and prevent them from appearing in your living quarters.

What harm can they do?

Every fly is a danger! Common houseflies, red-headed blue or green flies carry infectious diseases on their paws: typhus, polio, dysentery, cholera, worms, paratyphoid, helminth eggs, etc.

Besides, separate view flies, such as the autumn fly, is a blood-sucking insect. They suck the blood of a large cattle but don't give up on people. Their bite can cause anthrax, tularemia, brucellosis, and glanders.

It is worth highlighting cheese and wolfart flies. The former are dangerous because they lay their larvae in cheese, lard, ham and salted fish. An infected product, if it enters the body, or rather the larva, will continue its vital activity for some time, causing intestinal manifestations.

The second, as well as gadflies, are able to lay larvae under human skin. If urgent action is not taken, the larva will begin to eat tissue down to the very bone, causing inflammation, bleeding, and even gas gangrene.

It follows from this - it is necessary to destroy the flies! If you notice at least one fly on your table, then perhaps your food products may already be unusable and dangerous. And okay if this is a living space, but what to do when it comes to a cafe or restaurant? Or if it's an open area?

It will only require a serious and competent approach to this problem, and this problem is successfully solved by disinfection and disinfestation services for premises of any type of purpose.

How to kill flies and where do they come from?

Flies are very closely related to humans. Any accumulations of decaying products of plant and animal origin will be both food for flies and a place for them to live and reproduce. Flies lay their larvae in the following places:

  • dump trucks, ditches, garbage containers, waste places, garbage chutes;
  • where meat is butchered and sold;
  • in warehouses with fruits and wines (Drosophila flies).

Any fight against flies should begin precisely with the identification of the nearby habitat and reproduction, since it is possible to completely destroy the flies by fighting the larvae.

Otherwise, the number of flies will increase again, and quickly enough. It is not uncommon for cases when an independent fight against flies different ways only aggravates the situation - there are even more flies, and on chem. drugs and means that were used for destruction, they no longer react.

These insects, like many others, are able to quickly adapt to such means, and if they are not used correctly, they will no longer be afraid of a new generation of flies.

Disinsection specialists, before processing an object, assess the situation, and begin work by identifying places suitable for insects, because it should be processed as much as possible effective means. In general, the disinsection of flies is carried out by the following methods:

  • Fumigation - the elimination of pests by poisoning them with poisonous gels, aerosols, smoke bombs and vapors;
  • Pest control is the direct treatment of the insect outbreak itself through the use of chemical and biological agents of Russian and European production.

The dwelling is treated with microencapsulated products in order to preserve the health of residents and pets.

The product is practically odorless, highly effective, does not leave streaks or stains on furniture and wallpaper, and has a long-term preventive effect.

Of course, for the fight against flies, so-called. household methods, which also have their effectiveness, but their disadvantage is that they do not provide complete protection against flies, have a limited duration of action and can be addictive for insects:

  1. Adhesive paper (Velcro), poison paper, liquid poison;
  2. Repellents: for example, in a room where there is a bouquet of tansy flowers, there are no flies, since its essential oil causes paralysis of motor organs in insects;
  3. Mixtures for the destruction of breeding sites for flies (cesspools, compost heaps, landfills): an aqueous emulsion of karbofos (1 liter of water and 10 g of the drug), an aqueous suspension of bleach (1 l per 10 g) or a soap-kerosene mixture;
  4. Weak ammonia solution from onion and carrot flies (maximum permissible concentration of ammonia 0.1%). A similar tool ammonia(for 5 liters of water 1 ml of alcohol).

You need to understand that fighting flies is much more difficult than preventing their appearance.

Disinsection service specialists advise to adhere to elementary sanitary and technical rules, cleanliness and order, and if there are potentially possible places for the accumulation and reproduction of flies on your territory, you must immediately eliminate (bury, remove) or process them (disinsection).

It is better for professionals to do this - one treatment will not take more than an hour, but it will last for a whole year!

If you notice that your child is playing with a fly, wean him from it. Explain that this can be very dangerous, and if after that you find an allergic reaction on his skin, complaining of burning or itching, go to the doctor without delay!

How to deal with flies

There are many in nature various kinds flies. However, the housefly is the most common. In rotting garbage, in rotten vegetables, garbage, each fly lays about 100 eggs at a time, from which larvae hatch after a few hours. A few days pass, and the larvae turn into pupae, from which flies then emerge.

The fly has a sticky pad strewn with hairs at the base of each foot. On sticky pads, the fly carries a huge number of microorganisms. On one fly, you can find several million different microbes, including pathogens.

Attention!

Flies can carry pathogens of such dangerous diseases as dysentery, anthrax, cholera, tuberculosis, typhoid fever.

There are a lot of flies in the summer, and at this time of the year it is especially important not to stand for a long time dirty dishes to keep food covered; buckets and bins for garbage and food waste should be kept closed and emptied daily and washed with disinfectants.

It is very important to ensure that there are no open dustbins and rotting garbage near the house or cottage. Cesspools and temporary latrines should be systematically disinfected, for example with bleach.

In summer, in every room, especially in the country, you can put a flowerpot in which castor beans are planted. Flies cannot stand the smell of this plant. Flies do not like the aroma of bird cherry. In order to have fewer flies in the house, plant currant bushes around the garbage heap.

House flies are afraid of the smell of tansy; if you put this plant in a room, the flies will fly away. They do not like flies and floors rubbed with turpentine mastic.

To keep flies from flying in windows, smear window frames with vinegar. Attach to windows frequent metal mesh or curtain the windows with gauze. Flies are afraid of drafts, so ventilate the room more often. To drive out the flies that have flown from the room, tightly curtain the windows for 15-20 minutes. Then quickly open the window. Flies attracted by the light will fly out of the room.

To kill flies in rooms, chlorophos tablets, powders, and chlorophos paper are used. Pour a tablet or powder weighing up to 1 g on a saucer 1 tbsp. spoon of water, add a little sugar and put in places where there are a lot of flies. As the water evaporates, it needs to be topped up.

Who wins?

The fight against flies will apparently go on forever. They annoy from spring to late autumn. Nevertheless, it is necessary to fight them, because. the harm from these annoying insects is enormous: they carry dirt, pathogens of various diseases, including deadly ones. Yes, and just unpleasant creatures.

Kinds

Flies are numerous and diverse insects. There are about 4 thousand species, which are divided into more than 100 genera. Flies of the most common species feed on the nectar of flowers, vegetable juice (there are flies that love Birch juice, For example).

They can feed on sweat, blood, plant debris. some types of flies are predators. They catch and feed on other insects.

Most often we meet a house fly. And although it bothers us all daylight hours until the deepest autumn, we don’t know much about the features of the insect.

What do flies eat?

The most important thing for a fly is food - it loses a lot of nutrients during flights and therefore is always hungry. A house fly can only eat liquid food - they have a licking - sucking mouth apparatus, even solid food is first dissolved with saliva.

The second important thing is to leave as many offspring as possible in the most unsightly favorable place.

reproduction

The main goal of the fly is to find a suitable place to lay eggs. Throughout its short life (lives from two weeks to 2 months), the fly actively lays eggs. Manages to postpone from 700 to 2000 pieces!

Lays 70-120 eggs per clutch. The masonry site is selected in which the larvae (maggots) will have something to profit from - cesspools, compost heaps, sewage, and even just soil in pots of indoor flowers.

The egg is laid - a new fly appears after 10-15 days. The rate of development of the larva is directly dependent on temperature. environment. The warmer - the faster the larvae mature.

Fly larvae are unsightly worms that develop in various environments favorable for them: rotting and still living plants, soil, swamp silt, dead organisms, animals. In another way, the worms of flies are called maggots - this is the famous bottom hook attachment for catching many types of fish. Let's just say - the simplest and most common nozzle.

After emerging from the pupa, the adult fly is ready to mate within 36 hours. During the year, 9-20 generations of flies are replaced.

In the house, in the country - how to fight?

Most main stage fight against flies - destruction of places of possible breeding of flies. In other words, a fly that accidentally got into your house, and even into your yard - simply should not have a suitable place where you can lay your eggs.

Simply put - cleanliness is the main and most basic method of dealing with flies. If there are too many of them in the room, it means that there really is a place somewhere for the favorable reproduction of these unbearable insects.

It's pointless to use chemicals- they act for a while, those flies that did not die acquire immunity and do not die during the next treatment of the premises. And the harm from insecticides to humans is huge!

What attracts flies the most?

  • Damaged products. The trash can is a great bait!
  • Sweet foods. Do not leave sweets on the table.
  • The smell of human sweat - that's why flies get people with enviable constancy.
  • The smell of animal hair. More often, dogs suffer from flies less often - cats do not sit on reptiles and birds at all.

fly trap. Fly trap - good way fly control. And most importantly - harmless. You can buy ready-made, or you can make it yourself - 5 minutes of business.

  1. We cut off the top of the plastic bottle and turn it upside down, in the form of a funnel (without a cork).
  2. Pour sweet syrup into the bottom of the bottle. You can put a piece of spoiled meat - but this version of the trap is unlikely to suit you and your family members.

Flies get into the trap by smell - but they cannot get out. Primitive - but effective!

Modern technologies do not stand still and you can buy a fly trap based on ultraviolet radiation - ultraviolet radiation attracts flies, they, touching a metal grid, die under the influence of current. It is environmentally friendly, but not very effective during daylight hours, moreover, other insects disappear along with the flies, which are not always harmful.

Fly tape. The most common type of fly trap is sticky tape. There are a lot of manufacturers, the composition of the glue usually includes a bait substance, and the flies willingly sit on the tape and can no longer fly away. The most important thing is that the tape is fresh, not dry.

Tape has a lot of advantages:

  • not expensive
  • available
  • harmless to humans and animals
  • does not smell and does not emit any harmful substances

You can make sticky tape with your own hands. Necessary:

  • Castor or linseed oil 200g
  • Resin or rosin 300 g
  • Honey, sugar, glycerin - as bait 60 g

Melt rosin (pine resin), honey, linseed oil in a water bath. we apply the hot mixture on a paper tape - and hang it in the room where the flies have accumulated

fly repeller. One of the most simple options fight - ultrasonic repeller for flies. The device works within a certain radius and repels insects with ultrasonic radiation.

Flies begin an active life during the period when the total daily temperature reaches 120 degrees. Until then, they are dormant. Both larvae, and pupae, and adult fertilized females hibernate.

Attention!

The fly has compound eyes and cannot distinguish between transparent objects, such as glass on windows.

The paws of flies are equipped with suction cups - therefore even the most secluded places are accessible to them.

The subtleties of the fight against buzzers

There are many types of different flies in nature. However, the most common species is the housefly. Each fly lays up to 100 eggs at a time in garbage, rotten vegetables, and rotting garbage.

Larvae emerge from each egg after a few hours. A few days will pass, and the larvae will turn into pupae, from which flies will then appear.

A sticky pad, studded with hairs, is on the base of each paw of the fly. The fly carries a huge number of microorganisms dangerous to humans.

Only one fly can detect up to several million different pathogenic microbes. Flies carry pathogens of the following dangerous diseases: typhoid fever, tuberculosis, cholera, anthrax, dysentery.

In summer there are a lot of flies. In the summer, it is especially important that dirty dishes do not stand for a long time, that food is kept closed, that containers and buckets for food waste and garbage are kept only closed, and that they are emptied and washed daily with disinfectants.

It is imperative to ensure that there are no rotting garbage or open dustbins near the cottage or house.

Temporary latrines or latrines should be systematically disinfected, at least with bleach.

In every room in summer period, especially in the country, in order to effectively deal with flies, it is imperative to put a flowerpot in which to plant the castor oil beforehand, since the smell of this plant cannot be tolerated by flies.

The aroma of bird cherry is also not liked by flies. In order to have fewer flies in the house, you need to plant currant bushes around the garbage heap. House flies are afraid of the smell of tansy, so if this plant is placed in a room, then all the flies will fly away.

Floors that are rubbed with turpentine mastic also do not like flies. window frames must be lubricated with vinegar so that flies do not fly into the windows. To prevent flies from flying into the windows, you need to curtain the windows with gauze or attach frequent metal nets to them.

Ventilate the room as often as possible, as flies are very afraid of drafts. In order to drive out the flies that have flown into their rooms, you need to curtain the window for about twenty minutes, then quickly open the window. Attracted by the light, the flies will quickly fly out of the room.

To destroy flies in rooms, you can use chlorophos paper, powders or chlorophos tablets. Put the powder or tablet on a saucer, add water and a little sugar and leave it in places where there are a lot of flies. Water must be added as it evaporates.

Reduce the number of flies in summer kitchen on the garden plot, you can use a simple device: liter jar Pour in the sour meat or fish broth and insert a folded paper funnel.

How to get rid of flies

As soon as warm summer days, and city dwellers, and those who have gone to the country or live in the countryside, begin to fight flies. And if in the city it is very easy to do this with the help of mosquito nets, then outside the city flies can significantly spoil life. After all, the charm of country life is that you want to open the window wide open and inhale the aromas of nature, and here - the hated flies.

You can install mosquito nets in the apartment and country house, but usually the doors are open in the house, so that flies can fly in through them. So we start the fight.

First of all, we examine all the trash cans, the spaces under the kitchen table and the dishwasher. Often flies in such secluded places lay eggs and continuously multiply. You need to make it a rule to throw out garbage every day and wipe the floors in those places where winged breeding is possible.

Having cleaned out all the secret corners of a house or apartment, you can start the fight against stray flies, first - folk remedies. Flies categorically do not tolerate sharp specific odors: wormwood, tansy, Bay leaf, eucalyptus, tomato tops.

Bundles of these plants can be hung in rooms, and then the flies most likely will not fly into the house. You can also soak small pieces of cloth with geranium or eucalyptus oil and lay them out in different places.

Some people do not tolerate strong odors, then they can be advised to place special traps in the rooms or hang sticky tapes which can be purchased at any hardware store. These tapes, however, do not look very aesthetically pleasing, but winged robbers stick to them perfectly, and the traps catch flies either by the smell of the bait or by the light.

Most effective way- is to get rid of flies with the help of chemicals, of which there are a great many today. But keep in mind: using Kombat and Raptor aerosols, you must then leave the living quarters for a while so as not to inhale toxic fumes.

Although today there are already funds from the same manufacturers that do not work so fast, but do not harm human health. These are special cans of liquid that are plugged into an outlet. The vapors coming out of them kill the flies.

The latest developments that enter the market for combating various household insects, these are microencapsulated emulsions "Solfak", "Microcin +", "Delta Zone" and the like.

Attention!

They are diluted with water, then all surfaces in the house are treated with this solution. Manufacturers claim that these products are absolutely safe for people and animals and retain their effect (repel flies) for 1-2 months.

Flies are very unpleasant, but not fatal. We hope that from the many options for dealing with them, you will choose the one that suits you.

We fight annoying neighbors in the house with the help of little tricks

How to deal with annoying flies? What to adopt from folk remedies and what traps are easy to do on your own? Read about it in the article.

Flies in the house are a big problem. They fly, buzz, annoy, make you distract from everyday affairs, interfere with a peaceful rest. Many of them are carriers of dangerous diseases, so it is better to get rid of these uninvited "guests" as soon as possible.

One of the main reasons for the appearance of flies in the house is unsanitary conditions. Crumbs on the floor, dirty dishes, a full trash can - all this attracts obsessive insects. Therefore, it is necessary to throw away waste on time, keep fresh food in the refrigerator, and take out the trash more often.

It is useful to carry out wet cleaning every other day by adding table vinegar to a bucket of water (in the proportion of 1 tablespoon per liter of water). People will not feel the pungent smell of vinegar, and it will be unpleasant for flies, and they will not want to fly into the room.

It is also advisable to hang mosquito nets on the windows. On the windowsills, you can put plants, the smell of which repels flies. For example, geranium.

If you live in a private house, it is good to plant an elder tree, bird cherry bushes, a walnut tree or wormwood under the windows (popularly it is often called " god tree"). The smell of these plants is also very disliked by insects.

When such measures do not help, it is necessary to move on to more active actions: use household chemicals or effective folk remedies.

Among the proposed industrial remedies for flies, the most popular are:

  • aerosols;
  • fumigator plates;
  • sticky tapes.

What are their advantages and disadvantages?

Aerosols kill flies instantly. But they must be sprayed manually, while the room must be well protected from drafts. It is impossible to stay in such a room for a long time after treatment: it is dangerous to health. Therefore, using aerosols is not very convenient.

The principle of operation of the plates for the fumigator is somewhat different: an element impregnated with a poisonous substance is inserted into a special device. The fumigator heats it up, the active substance evaporates and spreads around the room and kills the flies. For an adult, this method of insect control is safe, but it is better not to use this device in a children's room.

Sticky tapes attract insects with their smell, they sit on them and stick. The insect cannot fly away, therefore it dies. These traps can be hung from the ceiling or placed on a horizontal surface.

How to make sticky tape from flies with your own hands?

It is not difficult to make such a fly trap yourself. For this you will need:

  • ordinary notebook sheet of paper;
  • rosin;
  • Castor oil;
  • honey or jam.

Mix rosin and castor oil in equal proportions and heat in a water bath. As soon as the substances are melted, you can add honey or jam. Their smell will attract insects.

Cut a paper sheet into strips 8 cm wide and soak them with this mass on both sides. Hang the trap where the flies are.

Folk remedies

Chemicals are quite effective, but where children or pets live, they are not recommended for use. Therefore, it makes sense to use safe folk remedies.

The easiest method is to boil sugar syrup and add black pepper to it. Such a "trap" can be poured into a plate and kept on the table.

Flies are afraid of the smell of common flax, she Snapdragon(sold in a pharmacy). Prepare a decoction of herbs and milk (a tablespoon of the plant per liter of liquid), then pour it into bowls and place it in the corners of the room. The smell of the brew repels flies well.

If the plant could not be found, it can be replaced with tansy or castor bean flowers. At the same time, tansy does not even need to be cooked. Its flowers and leaves are enough just to grind, sprinkle them with a piece fresh meat and put it on any work surface.

This method also helps to get rid of moths, bedbugs and fleas.

Get rid of the carriers of infection

If mosquitoes appear in the evening and are companions of dampness, then flies are active during daylight hours and love warmth. Not only the nasty buzzing in the early morning or annoying attempts to sit on the face, skin, food on the table caused dislike for these insects.

Since childhood, everyone has heard more than once that flies are “carriers of infection”, but often we don’t even imagine how true this statement is. Freely moving between garbage dumps, garbage and a person's house, one fly can carry millions of microbes.

Not surprisingly, for thousands of years, mankind has been looking for ways to fight flies. And the destruction of flies in crowded places would be the solution to many problems.

Today, there are several types of protection against flies and horseflies - these are the long-known Velcro, nets on windows and doors, as well as modern methods- disinfection and fumigation. Disinsection is a complex of actions aimed at poisoning insects with the help of chemical and biological agents. Fumigation - the destruction of flies with poisonous aerosols, fumes, gases.

Unfortunately, even chemical preparations give a temporary and not always one hundred percent effect. Flies quickly adapt to poisons, and over time they can even eat them.

This brings significant inconvenience to people: they have to ventilate the premises for a long time, wash the walls and ceilings after treatment with chemicals, monitor the safety of children and animals, and adults need to be vigilant.

An alternative to chemicals is the Fly Trap fly and horsefly trap. Depending on the model, it operates on an area from 1 to 5 acres. It can be used both indoors and outdoors.

The main condition is Smooth surface for installation and lack of moisture. The flycatcher attracts insects with its heat, a small amount of carbon dioxide and a special bait that is included in the kit.

Attention!

The bait is a sexual attractant and attracts flies that fall into the trap and cannot get out of it. Depending on the weather and conditions of using the trap, the effect of the attractant lasts 7-10 days.

Within a few weeks of using this fly and horsefly killer, the number of insects is noticeably reduced. After that, the operation of the device can be suspended until the population increases further.

Flies are the most tenacious insects that can even survive the winter, hiding in secluded places in houses and apartments. And as soon as early spring comes, they are ready to bother people again. How to get rid of such pests, and what we offer modern market to fight pesky insects?

There are really enough drugs and they all do their job quite well. Therefore, your choice may depend on several criteria - the price factor, safety for humans and pets (especially if there are children in the house), ease of use and the duration of the effect.

Pests are a nasty problem. To solve it, find out how to get rid of flies in the house and apartment with folk remedies. Some methods of struggle are really effective and not expensive.

Why are flies dangerous and what harm do they do?

Flies are not only annoying insects, causing discomfort to all residents of the apartment and house, but also carriers of dangerous diseases. These pests feed on leftover food, waste products of people and animals, and waste.

And some food sources can contain dangerous pathogens that move onto and spread on the bodies and paws of flies. If an infected insect sits on food, then its use can provoke the development of a serious illness.

The real question is where do flies come from? The reasons for the appearance of such pests are associated with food sources that they easily find. Often insects catch the smell of food or waste and fly in from the entrances, from the street, from garbage dumps or from neighboring apartments.

But also eggs laid by adults often get into housing, which can be in waste, land, food, on plants, in animal excrement. All this, in most cases, ends up in housing along with human shoes or clothing, pet hair, or even with grocery store goods.

Types of these pests

Flies are insects that belong to the Diptera order and live in the most different conditions, including in people's homes. Many known species are considered synanthropic, which means that the way of life of such pests is closely related to people. All varieties have similar features, and the first is the body structure.

Among its parts are distinguished such as three pairs of paws, chest, abdomen, head, wings, complex and simple eyes, antennae and proboscis. Flies have well-developed olfactory organs, which allow them to capture odors and detect food sources. And insects evaluate the found food with their paws, which are the most sensitive organs.

There are several types of flies that live in houses and apartments:

  • The house fly stands out as a separate species and is the most common. She lives in apartments wild nature is extremely rare.
  • House flies are very similar to house flies, but differ in more impressive body sizes and a varied diet. Living in private homes, they are able to eat not only waste and products, but also manure, plants, and the remains of rotting fruits.
  • Drop flies. Their body is painted green tint with ebb, which is a distinctive feature of this species. These insects feed on the corpses of small rodents and large animals, various waste, excrement, and manure. Fall flies are the most dangerous, as they carry a huge amount of pathogenic microorganisms.
  • Autumn Stinger is another type of flies that live near people and in their homes. By structure and appearance this pest resembles house flies, but differs from them in the increased length of the proboscis and the presence of so-called denticles on this part. The insect feeds on human tissues: during friction with a toothed proboscis on the skin, it captures particles of the epidermis with blood and consumes them. Also, the burner secretes saliva, which contains toxic components and provokes severe irritation.

In addition to the listed varieties of flies in houses and apartments, you can also find other equally common pests: fruit flies (fruit flies), moths, butterflies, and so on.

Good to know: many people are interested in how long flies live. The life expectancy of most members of the detachment is on the order of one to two months, depending on conditions. But for such a short period of time, an adult can lay about 500-2000 eggs.

How to get rid of flies folk remedies?

It is not easy to get the flies out of the apartment, as they fly, easily penetrate the dwelling from the outside and multiply at a rapid pace. To destroy such pests, you need to act comprehensively and consistently.

The fight can be divided into several stages:

  1. Limiting access of insects to food sources. To do this, you need to store all products in closed packages and put them in a cupboard or refrigerator, as well as throw out garbage in a timely manner and carry out cleaning in order to remove food residues from different surfaces(table, floor, furniture).
  2. Egg destruction. All potential sources of offspring should be removed from the apartment or house. Since eggs are usually laid by flies in waste and leftover food, all this must be thrown away. Also carefully inspect the stored open form products. Egg storage can be houseplants and therefore they must be carefully examined. General cleaning is needed, especially in the kitchen and in the bathroom.
  3. Third final stage- fight with adults. And it can be done different ways, the most effective of which will be discussed in detail below.

All methods of dealing with flies can be divided into three groups. The first is mechanical methods, involving the capture of insects and their destruction through mechanical action. This group includes various traps, fly swatters and other devices.

Herbs and indoor flowers

You can scare away flies from a private house or apartment with the help of plants that have sharp specific odors. Consider the most effective means:

  • Geranium has a pronounced aroma that will scare away pests. You can put a pot with this plant on the windowsill. Better yet, place such flowers in all rooms of an apartment or house in order to fully protect your home.
  • Basil, a fragrant seasoning known to many, can also be used as a means of fighting flies. Bunches of fresh grass or a pinch of dried grass should be placed on windowsills and near potential food sources.
  • Owners of private houses and cottages can use marigold flowers to scare away, which have a rather pronounced smell and repel many pests. It is best to plant them near the entrance and under the windows.
  • If bird cherry grows on the site, then the flies are unlikely to fly here.
  • Tansy will help to cope with flies without chemicals, the leaves of which (dried or fresh) can be placed on window sills and pieces of furniture, as well as hung on cornices and lamps.
  • If you have cloves, then scatter this seasoning in small containers and arrange on the windowsills and near the products.
  • Peppermint has a fresh scent that is pleasant to humans and repels annoying flies. If there is such a plant in your garden or garden, then you can pick it, place it in water and place it around the house. But it is allowed to use dried mint.
  • Owners of cottages and private houses who grow tomatoes can use their foliage: it can be laid out in all rooms to repel insect pests.
  • Lavender is a beautiful flower with a specific scent that irritates flies. Pots with plants can be placed in rooms on window sills or in the local area near gazebos and verandas.
  • To drive out pests and dwellings, spread bay leaves in all rooms.

Tip: You can use several tools at the same time. But do not overdo it so that the mixing of smells does not annoy the residents.

Other methods of struggle

You can destroy annoying flies with the help of other means and devices:

  1. Good for repelling flies essential oils: lemon, eucalyptus, mint, clove, lavender and others with pronounced aromas. The first method of application is to soak cotton pads in the product and distribute such homemade repellers around the house. The second way is to add oils to the water and spray the solutions on all surfaces.
  2. Ready store traps made in the form of sticky tapes. A sticky substance and bait are applied to them: the fly smells, sits on the surface, sticks and can no longer fly away.
  3. You can make effective pest traps yourself. To do this, take some container with a wide neck (a jar cut plastic bottle), tape, paper and bait. From paper, make a cone with a small hole, place it with a narrow part in a jar, filling it with bait, and fix it on the edges of the neck. To lure pests, you can use pieces of fruit, beer, sugar syrup. The upper part of the container can be closed with polyethylene or film by making several holes. The principle of operation of such traps is simple: flies catch odors, penetrate inside, but can no longer get out. Enhance the effect of liquid and sticky baits.
  4. The peel of citrus fruits, laid out around the apartment, will scare away insects. You can also use the zest of oranges or lemons, or the pulp of these citrus fruits.
  5. You can spray vodka or alcohol in places where flies accumulate: a strong smell will irritate insects and force them to leave the room.
  6. Regular vinegar will help get rid of flies at home. It is applied in various ways. You can soak cotton pads or pieces of fabric in it and spread them around the room, you can spray the product from a spray bottle on the main surfaces. You can also just heat vinegar in a room full of flies.
  7. Try your hand at making sticky tape. For this strip thick paper or cardboard generously grease with syrup boiled from water and sugar. Place traps on window sills and near insect food sources.
  8. Prepare hazel lotion. First, make a decoction: pour three tablespoons of dry raw materials into 150 ml of boiling water. The mixture is simmered for fifteen minutes, after which it is removed from the stove. After an hour of infusion under the lid, the broth must be filtered and mixed with the same amount of 9% apple or table vinegar. Such a lotion is sprayed on areas where flies accumulate.
  9. Use a fumigator to repel insects. All such devices operate in approximately the same way: during heating, frightening odors begin to evaporate, as well as chemical substances that destroy pests.
  10. Ultrasonic repellers. They emit ultrasonic waves, which are supposed to make insects leave the room. But, as practice shows, such devices are far from always effective. In addition, to achieve a lasting effect, they must remain on all the time.
  11. Electrical traps. Infrared radiation attracts flies, they rush to the trap and die under the influence of current.
  12. Use insecticides to get rid of flies. Such drugs contain chemical components that destroy flies: they settle on their paws, and then enter the digestive tract and begin to act, causing paralysis and death. The most effective means are considered to be "Executioner", "Get", "Flybait", "Raptor", "Agita 10WG", "Minap 22", "Varan", "Master". But the use of any insecticidal preparations should be extremely careful. First, do not spray them in the children's room and food. Secondly, carry out the treatment in a respirator and gloves. Thirdly, ventilate the room after the procedure. And fourthly, follow all the data in the instruction manual.

When is the help of the relevant services needed?

If you can’t get rid of flies at home on your own, and there are a lot of insects, then it makes sense to seek help from professionals. Each city has specialized pest control services that deal with the destruction of pests.

Specialists must have a license to carry out activities, which guarantees the effectiveness of the work carried out. Exterminators use concentrated insecticidal preparations and treat all surfaces.

The main advantage of contacting a specialized service is the complete destruction of flies. In addition, you do not have to come into contact with chemicals, and all residents must leave the premises during treatment, so the fight against flies will be safe. But not always and not everyone has the opportunity to leave. It is also worth remembering that the services are paid, and the price depends on the area of the apartment or house and the degree of its infection, that is, the number of flies and eggs laid.

Prevention

What to do so that the flies do not appear again? Follow the preventive measures:

  • Install mosquito nets on all windows and make sure that they remain intact and have no holes or crevices. It is also desirable to protect the ventilation holes and the entrance with nets.
  • Dispose of garbage in a timely manner, do not allow it to accumulate.
  • Store waste in a closed container, such as a trash can with a lid or a resealable container.
  • Products should be stored in closed containers and removed from the table in time.
  • Clean regularly and remove all food residues.
  • Wash dishes regularly and don't leave them in the sink. Leftover food on plates attracts flies and can be used as food by them.
  • Avoid rotting fruits and vegetables.
  • Check your houseplants regularly.
  • Ventilate all rooms frequently.
  • If you notice one fly that has entered the room, immediately destroy it so that it does not have time to lay eggs. Regularly inspect all premises in order to detect insects and deal with them in a timely manner.

Now you know how to poison flies and scare away such pests, so you can fight them and protect your apartment or house.

Basement flies: effective methods prevention and control

Flies are constant companions of man. Moreover, such a neighborhood causes great trouble: flies are carriers of various serious infections, and they are simply able to poison a person's life with their annoying buzzing.

Flies carry serious infections and diseases.

There are many types of flies, but the most active fight we have with house and house flies.

It is these species that live in close proximity to humans: they fly into living quarters, kitchens, shops, etc. One of the varieties of houseflies are basement flies. What are these insects and how to deal with them, you will learn further.

Basement fly: information about the insect

House and house flies belong to the endophilic class. They constantly fly into enclosed spaces: houses, apartments, shops, kitchens, basements, etc. These two types of insects differ only in size. These flies go through 4 stages of development: egg, larva (prepupa), pupa and winged fly. Flies that go through a full development cycle are classified as synanthropic. Flies of this species are oviparous. They are very prolific: the female lays up to 150 eggs at a time, that is, during the summer period, the number of eggs reaches several hundred. Their favorite places for laying eggs are manure, rotting vegetables, fish, meat, feces, kitchen waste.

Flies are seasonal insects. The peak of their numbers is in July and August, but in areas with a dry and hot climate, the peak of activity occurs in June and September. They eat food food waste, feces, etc. In the summer, flies live in close proximity to humans: in the kitchen, in rooms, and winter mainly in cellars and basements.

At the same time, the fly is a familiar, but very dangerous neighbor for humans. After all, it is a carrier of various microbes, among which there are many pathogens of dangerous diseases: dysentery, typhoid fever, pinworms, roundworms, helminthiasis, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to fight flies.

The fight against flies includes several activities:

  • prevention;
  • destruction of larvae and pupae;
  • destruction of winged flies.

Back to index

Step 1: Prevent fly breeding

The easiest way is to prevent flies from breeding in basements and other areas. This is much easier than subsequently actively fighting with adults. Note that such a measure will not lead to the desired result. Prevention comes down to compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards. This implies the following rules:

The ventilating grid perfectly protects from flies.

  • Initially, you need to ensure the correct arrangement and maintenance of all cisterns, dustbins, containers and other sources that may attract flies. For example, all tanks and other containers must be tightly closed;
  • if food is stored in your cellar, you need to regularly monitor their quality: vegetables should not rot;
  • rooms should be without gaps, on ventilation holes and windows should be grids;
  • the room must be waterproof, since it is the environment with high dampness and humidity that is ideal for the development of larvae;
  • the territory at a distance of 1.5 m around cesspools and latrines must be asphalted or concreted;
  • if there is a non-sewered latrine in the yard, which is contaminated with secretions, it is necessary to clean and disinfect it daily with DTS GK or 10% bleach solution;
  • in a sewered house, it is necessary to use portable containers that are installed on asphalt or concrete sites. They must be taken out daily;
  • food waste must be collected in a separate container and then either used as livestock feed, or taken out daily outside the territory (home or settlement);
  • in a residential area, all windows and doors must be covered with nets, paper or gauze.

If flies have already entered the room, then flypaper for flies will help to eliminate them.

All these preventive measures help to prevent the active reproduction of flies. Remember: cleanliness is the key to preventing flies. If flies pester you only in the basement, then it is pointless to carry out preventive measures only in this room alone: the appearance of flies in the basement is a consequence. In addition, as a rule, people encounter these insects with the advent of spring.

If, however, such a problem as an invasion of flies has already arisen in your house, and it seems that the situation is getting out of control, then it is time to connect active control methods to preventive measures.

Stage 2: extermination of larvae and pupae

At the second stage, the most important thing is to exterminate the larvae and pupae of the flies. For this, larvicides are used.

For organic waste, you need to buy a resealable bucket, as flies lay their larvae in rotting food.

As you know, flies lay their larvae in rotting substances of organic origin. Therefore, the fight begins with the treatment of liquid waste, cesspools, garbage bins, as well as the soil under them. Processing begins in May, and in the southern regions - even in April. It is very easy to destroy the larvae in these places with the help of insecticidal solutions and emulsions. In this case, these substances form a film on the surface. When the time comes, and the larva rises to the surface, it invariably comes into contact with the insecticide, which leads to its death.

The surfaces of liquid boros are treated with the following larvicides: an aqueous emulsion of 0.3 - 0.5% dicresil, 0.2% trichlorvos, 0.5% DDVF, 1% karbofos, 0.5% diphos; aqueous solutions of 2% chlorophos. With these solutions, the entire surface of the cesspools is evenly poured. The consumption of drugs is from 0.2 to 1 liter per 1 m 2 of the treated surface. It is necessary to process with a frequency of 2-5 times a month. The frequency depends on the number of larvae and climatic conditions. The drier and hotter the climate and the more larvae, the more often processing is necessary.

Much more difficult is the destruction of larvae and pupae in manure, garbage and soil. However, in this case you can achieve results with the same drugs that were discussed above. Only their concentration will differ: from 2 to 5 liters of the drug per 1 m 2 of area with a layer of waste up to 0.5 m thick; from 10 to 12 l - with a thickness of more than 0.5 m. Accordingly, the frequency of treatments also needs to be increased.

Back to index

Stage 3: destruction of winged flies

It is very difficult to destroy fly larvae in manure, so it is better not to allow eggs to be laid immediately.

The third stage in the fight against flies is the destruction of already winged individuals. For this purpose, a 2 - 3% solution of chlorophos and solutions from a mixture of DDVF with chlorophos (in a ratio of 1:10) are used. In addition, insecticidal chlorophos paper, chlorophos tablets, aerosol cans containing DDVF (for example, Neophos), sticky tapes, traps and baits with chlorophos, sugary substances and ammonium carbonate are effective.

At the same time, it should be noted that the use of the same agent for the destruction of both larvae and already flying insects does not make sense, since it will only lead to the resistance of flies to active substances.

Solutions are processed rooms in which there is a concentration of flies. In this case, it is necessary to evenly irrigate the walls near doors, windows, fittings, window frames, etc.

  • food substances to which an insecticide is added (for example, chlorophos);
  • fly agaric. This is the name of sheets of paper that are impregnated with substances poisonous to insects. To do this, sheets (10x10) are laid out on plates, poured warm water(50 ml), add 0.5 tsp. sugar and chlorophos. Plates are placed in rooms where there is a concentration of flies. Enough 1 fly agaric per 10 - 20 m 2 area;
  • a poison that replaces chlorophos paper and tablets. It is done as follows: add 0.25% ammonium carbonate to a 0.25% aqueous solution of chlorophos. Pour the solution into open containers with a volume of 100-300 ml;
  • poison bait: 25 g of milk, 125 g of water, 20 g of formalin mix. Pour the mixture into small containers and arrange in the room;
  • poisonous bait: mix 13 ml of water, 4 g of glycerin, 3 g of an aqueous solution of formalin and pour the solution into a plate. Suitable only for non-residential premises such as a basement, cellar, etc.

Solutions can also be used to treat the surfaces of a room in which insects accumulate: to irrigate the floor, doorways, window frames, ceiling beams. Processing should be carried out for 4-6 weeks with a frequency of 3-4 days a week.

In addition, it is important to process not only those rooms in which you found an accumulation of flies, but also their favorite wintering places: basements, attics, stairwells.

Mechanical means of fighting flies

Mechanical means of killing winged flies are also very common. They are good both as an auxiliary measure in a situation of a large concentration of flies, and if you find insects after wintering in a “half-asleep” state. TO mechanical means relate:

Flycatchers: glass, mesh, polymer

The glass flytrap is a vessel small size with a funnel-shaped hole at the bottom and a neck at the top. The polymer flytrap is similar to the glass flytrap, but consists of 2 parts. These flytraps are used for indoor fly control. Soapy water is poured into them, and a saucer-type container is placed under the structure itself, into which the bait is poured: beer, milk with bread crumbs, bread kvass etc. The flies are attracted by the smell of the bait, they crawl under the flytrap, fly into the hole and fall straight into the soapy water. The bait should be changed every day.

The mesh flycatcher is designed for outdoor insect control. She represents wooden frame covered with metal mesh on top and sides. Instead of a bottom, the flycatcher has a mesh cone with a hole. The top is closed with a mesh-covered lid.

sticky paper

Sticky tape or paper can be purchased ready-made or you can make your own. Sticky mass is made in several ways:

  1. From rosin and castor oil (in a ratio of 2: 1). This mixture is spread on paper or sheets, after which they are hung or laid out in places where flies are most concentrated.
  2. Grind 55 g of rosin to a powder, add 5 ml of glycerin, 12 ml of mineral oil, 15 ml of vegetable oil, 10 ml of machine oil, 17 ml of castor oil, 1 tbsp. l. honey and mix well. Apply non-drying glue to the strips of paper and coat with the resulting mixture on top. At the same time, make sure that there are no drafts in the room.

It is advisable to lay out the bait at the rate of 1 tape per 20 m 2 of area. One such leaf can destroy up to 500 individuals. Used bait must be burned.
